Man, I set these goals to go to sleep early, and then I find myself up late yet again. Sigh. I guess that's the way life works when you don't have structure to your days.
I slept in until about 12:30 p.m. when I got a knock on the door from one of my neighbors (DF). He and a friend invited me to Taco Mac to watch some football, so I graciously accepted the invitation. We had a really good time watching football and catching up. I like fun people! Plus I had some Fiesta Chicken Nachos.
My friend (BA) and I then met up and ended up going on a walk by the Chattahoochee. We spent a lot of time talking about life and walked about six miles. Pretty impressive, I must say! It started to get pretty chilly at the end of our walk, so we ended up heading to Cafe Intermezzo to drink something warm. Today was good because I spent quality time with quality people. I enjoyed it! Can't get enough of that junk!
I have a goal to get up before noon tomorrow. I know that sounds somewhat pitiful since most people's days are halfway over by noon, but hey - I'm living a different lifestyle right now.
This week is gonna be a good one. I can feel it!

Givin' Lip
Well, well, well... Where to even begin. I'd say Shoot the Hooch 2010 was a success if I've ever seen one. By the time we got to the end of the course, there were literally cops waiting for us. Now, I'm not a fan of law-breaking and what not, but I've got to admit that I am impressed we could cause so much uproar on a river that there would be cops awaiting our arrival on land. Perhaps this year's pirate theme was appropriate. There were 16 girls, and we sure caused a lot of chaos. I don't think it's smart to negotiate with a cop while wearing a shirt that says "Givin' Lip."
My uncle graciously picked my roommate and I up. However, in our post-Hooch stupor, I forgot that my house key was in my car at the put-in. So, we got home and had to sit outside while my uncle and cousin went to retrieve my car. We successfully made it into the house and were pretty useless for the rest of the night...until Burial 2010.
When my roommate went up to bed, she came down and told me that one of her hamsters had died. Between the way we were feeling and the way she was acting, I was laughing entirely too much about poor Goober. My roommate was talking to Goober's child saying, "Nothing to see here, Peanut, " and "Your mama's not doing so well, Peanut." What an end to our day!
Today I met a few Wolf Camera friends (DH and MS) at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I devoured a BLT Blue Cheese Burger and we all split a piece of Snickers cheesecake. It was so fun to catch up and talk about everything under the sun. I love lunches like that. It was the perfect start (and end!) to my Sunday afternoon.
The Braves scored lots o' runs today, so they're still carrying the NL East by five games. Ballllerrrrrr! All of those disappointing seasons feel well-worth it this year.
I guess I'm gonna go get all of my crazy bloodwork done tomorrow afternoon. I have a lunch meeting, but it should be a relatively calm day otherwise.

It's like thunda...lightnin'
Well, the weather doesn't exactly look glorious for Shoot the Hooch 2010, but WE WILL PREVAIL! According to the hourly forecast, it's supposed to rain pretty much all day. We'll see where the day takes us, but I'm positive we'll have fun!
So, let's talk about the doctor. Booooooo. Yesterday's appointment with the endocrinologist went pretty well. I have to get about 8 million blood tests done for different things, so I guess I'll be knocking those puppies out on Monday. My bone density has been dropping and they want to check out all kinds of stuff. They also want me to collect my urine over a 24-hour period to see if my parathyroid is jacking up my calcium levels. There is a nice little rhyme that indicates something is wrong with the parathyroid, "moans, groans, stones, and bones." The most ironic thing is that the kidney stone debacle hadn't even happened when I was forced to make this appointment. WE SHALL SEE!
Then, onto the study appointment. Well, we successfully got blood on the first stick today! *round of applause* Basically I sat in a chair and we had a space heater in the chair in front of me blowing right at me. It worked like a charm! Then, onto the dreaded PFTs. I didn't realize the PFTs were dreaded until I saw the results. I last went to the doctor on June 1 - before the travels and the Series of Unfortunate Events. My numbers have dropped pretty significantly in that short time. These are hospitalization-worthy, hands-down, but we'll see if the information is relayed along to my doctor. I don't feel bad enough to warrant going into the hospital, but I do know these are pretty much the worst numbers I've ever seen. Laaaaaaaaame.
Yesterday I had lunch with my friend (ED), her mom, and her brother. It was fun to catch up and eat MEXICAN FOOD! We got kicked out of the restaurant because we're cool like that. And they were also closing for the afternoon.
I operated the camera at the theatre last night. The show was sold out and a lot o' fun.
Off to tackle the Chattahoochee!

You're beautiful
Sing that title like James Blunt sings it, please.
Well, it's late, but I haven't even been home for an hour. Tonight's show was fun. Like I mentioned, it was a private event for a consulting firm. Ironically, when I ran out at the beginning of the show, one of the first people I saw was a person I had a lengthy meeting with the other day at work. He is a member of the alumni board. That was actually extremely shocking, and I could tell he was just as surprised. In the show, I played Conducted Orchestra, Buzzer, Repeat-Scene-That Kind of Family, and Emotion Interview (with a physical characteristic thrown in the mix). I had a lot of fun in every single scene, which felt really great!
Today was a very hectic day work-wise. Yes, I worked from home, but it felt almost busier than if I'd been in the office. When I walked out the door for the show, it hit me that I hadn't even eaten a real meal all day. I'm not saying that like I'm proud, but I'm just surprised that today was that crazy. For the first time ever, I even forgot two of my three study drug doses. I'm not proud of that, either. I did end up using my lunch hour to go to the grocery store today, and I successfully bought a cart of groceries for the first time in at least three months. Pathetic, I know.
I can't remember if I mentioned this or not because my mind is so ... gone, but I have my endocrinologist and study appointments tomorrow. Then I'm heading to meet my friend (ED) for a late lunch. I am pretty excited for the day! It's a little busy for a day off of work, but it will be nice. I work at the theatre tomorrow night, too. Saturday means floating down the Chattahoochee with some really fun people. I soooo look forward to this day!
Well, my voice is halfway gone, which is a great foreshadowing for tomorrow's appointments. I am interested to see where my PFTs sit; the hospital is typical for me in August...
I am feeling a lot of positive energy lately. Heck yes!
One last thing - I had a crazy dream this morning. Sorry to all you cat people. I was walking to my front door and there was a cat staring me down. The cat was gray and pretty fluffy. I noticed as I neared the door that his tail was unattached, sitting next to him. When I got close, he jumped up and tried to bite my hand. I was trying to violently shake him off because it hurt so bad. I ended up hurling him off and the funniest thing is that this happened in real life. I literally woke myself up chucking a pillow across the room. I know that probably doesn't sound as funny as it was, but I could totally see that being a YouTube sensation if it had been recorded.

Way down yonder
Well, where to start... I got up at about 7:30 a.m. and stayed up for a little while writing. Then, I took a nap from 8:10 to 8:50 a.m. I'm truly not sure how I can take a nap before 9:00 a.m., but I did. I went walking at the Chattahoochee with my roommate and some friends. It was pretty nice outside and we walked for almost an hour and a half. It wasn't vigorous, so I plan on really pushing myself tomorrow.
When I got home, I showered and ate a snack. Then I watched Georgia Tech destroy Duke in football, so that was good. Georgia Tech officially clinched their division, so that's good news to a typically disappointed fan. I took a nap (again!) during halftime, and then got up to get ready for my MASSAGE.
Let me tell you...the massage was fun. In retrospect, I kind of wish I told the lady to focus a bit more on my back because that's where I hold the most stress. It was kind of creepy being in the massage place. It felt surreal in a very strange way... I couldn't see outside to civilization and nobody was really speaking. I just kind of felt like I had been abducted. Calming music was playing and it was so dark; it just felt like I was in a strange dream.
I spent most of the time during the massage thinking about how much I wouldn't want to be a massage therapist. I just can't imagine wanting to touch people like that. I mean, I bet she was relieved when my little harmless self came in, but imagine the types of people she might see in a given day. I was surprised at how comfortable I felt and could definitely get used to that. "Get a massage" was on the bucket list I created in May, so I officially get to mark something off!
After the massage, I went to For Eyes to look at spectacles. I'm nearly positive I successfully chose the craziest pair of glasses they had. The color of the glasses is called "prism" and is a mixture of orange, blue and purple. They are pretty awesome! When I first went to For Eyes in March of 2008, a worker invited me to her 21st birthday party. She was there, so it was fun to reminisce and get an honest opinion on the glasses I was considering!
You think my day ends there? NOPE. My sister came to get me and we went to Marshalls and the mall. I found some comfortable khaki pants at the mall, so I'm really excited about that. I can almost never find things that fit me and, of course after spending most of last Saturday looking for pants, I accidentally stumbled upon them today. On the way home from the mall, we got some queso to-go from El Toro. That's called addiction.
Now I'm getting ready to go to bed. We watched a few episodes of The Office and I'm watching the end of the Auburn vs. UGA football game. It's tied at the moment, but anything could happen. It's been a long but productive day.

Club Med
Well, GEE! Where to start! First things first, I am writing from the hospital. It's not particularly exciting, but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do. So, let's give a synopsis of the last forever...
Friday - I hit up the doctor on Friday and that apparently went really well... just kidding. Anyway, forget about the doctor and just know that I made an effort to have a great time until checking in here today. Friday night I went to the Bravos and experienced my first loss of the season because Soriano is pathetic. I don't care if he reads this. I said it. Now I'm 7-1, but I still impress myself.
Saturday - I went rafting down the Chattahoochee. It was absolutely hilarious. Gosh, we had a lot of fun! We were running so late that we ended up bringing knockoff Lunchables to eat on the river. The river was so much fun that I had literally no energy to go anywhere on Saturday night. But holy Shoot the Hooch! I'm already excited to do it again.
Sunday - I went and saw Julie and Julia with my mom. I liked it! It could have been more fast-paced, but it was a quality movie. I wanted to go to the Braves game Sunday night, but I was so exhausted. I could have napped forever and still gotten there before it started with the rain delay and all, but oh well. Glad I didn't go or I'd be looking at 7-2. Lame.
Monday - Work and improv! Work was fun - My last Monday for quite some time. Improv was cool. There were only four people there, so we were literally in every scene. It was much more enjoyable than I thought it might be! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
Tuesday - My last day of work until further notice, plus the DIERKS BENTLEY concert. Gosh, we had a lot of fun! I am singing 8 million songs today! I wish I could still be there right now... watching rednecks and kicking drinks over.
Now, I think admittance the hospital deserves its own entry.....

MOST BEST
Tueeeeeeesday.
Today was a successful day of.....relaxation. I worked from home again today, allowing me extra sleep plus the relief of not commuting for an hour and fifteen minutes. It sure makes the days seem longer and less hectic. And I can work in whatever clothing I choose...
I'm pretty excited right now because I am watching the Braves win. They just scored again. Now I'm simultaneously rooting for the Cubs so that Philly will lose. I promoted my two Braves-jersey-wearing stuffed animals to the bed tonight. I'm pretty sure that's what the team needs right now. Sadly I'm pretty superstitious when it comes to baseball, which is why I used to sleep hugging my foam tomahawk as a child when we were in the playoffs.
Do I have anything exciting to say? Tomorrow I think I'll hit up Starbeezy on the way to work. It's just a fun thing to anticipate in the mornings.
Ooh, Saturday I am rafting down the Chattahoochee, so that should be awesome! I had so much fun last year and I've been looking forward to its sequel. Mwahaha! I hope I don't get eaten by an alligator and, if I do, that would be a courageous way to go down.
Well, bedtime for me. Good night, Braves. Sleep horribly, Phillies.
