Yesterday was CRAZY!
My bathing suits shipped! I just went and tracked the package and it appears to be in the ATL. Guess who's getting her bathing suits on time! Awww, snap. Now let's just hope I got the right sizes.
I got up and worked for a while and then decided I wanted to go pick up something from Starbucks, so off I went. I quickly grabbed an Iced White Chocolate Mocha Latte (mwahahaha!), which kicked the day off right.
Then, for my lunch hour, I went to the fitness center where I witnessed a miracle. I'm being overdramatic, but I did run 3.36 miles without ever even slowing down. In fact, I increased the speed after two miles. Usually I end up standing on the side of the treadmill for a few seconds several times, or may even turn the pace a little slower for a bit. Yesterday, I was ON FIRE! I honestly couldn't believe how energetic and unfazed I was. There wasn't a single moment when I thought I needed to stop. In fact, I only stopped because I needed to get back home. Maybe Starbucks for breakfast helped...
The afternoon was consumed with work changes that are under way that I'm probably not allowed to mention. It's good, though.
At this point it was almost time for the Braves game debacle. Well, I had a drink or two before we hopped on MARTA to ride down to the game. It was raining when we got on MARTA, and my sister decided we should bring an umbrella. I'm very glad she did because I said I was willing to tough it out, but didn't realize it was going to be a monsoon. When we got down to the Five Points station to hop on the bus to the stadium, it was raining so unbelievably hard. Everyone was standing under the awning waiting for it to stop, but we made a run for it with the umbrella. It was a pretty bad call because we were sloshing water everywhere. Then, I proceeded to get on the bus and sit in a seat next to a leaking window, so I sat in water and it continued streaming in the window and getting on my pants. We moved across the aisle.
We got off the bus and hurried to a covered portion at one of the ticket gates. Our parents were in a parking lot tailgating (inside the truck) nearby. We were going to wait it out because we didn't think we should even try the long walk in the pouring, horizontal rain. Well, I asked the Atlanta Police Department officer if we could drink beers and he said no because we were in public. So we decided we were ready to venture to the truck. Our dad met us halfway, but it was a long journey. We got to the car and I ate a footlong (yes!) Publix sub. I also drank three Bud Light Limes. Finally, at about 8:45 p.m., it seemed to be clearing up so we headed to the stadium.
Thankfully our seats were in the club level and were covered. The game was a good one, and I improved my seasonal record to 3-0. It was 7-3 in the top of the 9th with one out when the bottom fell out of the sky. So, they called a rain delay at about 11:30 p.m. I wanted to stay and wait it out, but then they announced that the Friday night fireworks were canceled due to a noise ordinance (since it had gotten so late). With that information, I really didn't push back on my family because they were ready to go.
We took the long journey back on MARTA and got in the car a little after 12:30 a.m. Well, when we got to my sister's place, there were tons and tons of cop cars on the road. It appeared we had stumbled upon a roadblock. It was just past my sister's place and just before mine (we live less than .2 miles apart). They were letting cars through one at a time and talking to everyone, so needless to say, I did not feel prepared to drive. Instead, I fell asleep on my sister's couch. I woke up at about 1:30 a.m. and went outside to look. The roadblock was still in-process. So, I went back to sleep again and got up at 3:30 a.m., just in time to realize I'd missed my vanilla for the first time since the study began. Oops. Stupid cops. I finally headed the .2 mile home since the cops were done.
Is it just me or am I interacting with a lot of cops lately?
I'm getting ready to go down to the theatre for a lengthy shift on camera. Let's. Get. Energized!

Coffee + Twix
I don't even know how it could possibly be Monday; it seems like I just wrote in here yesterday. But I was wrong.
Saturday I got up and was slightly lazy until it was time to get ready for the Braves game. We grabbed El Toro on the way to the game, which was absolutely delicious. Me, my mom, and my sister went and we sat in front of the most annoying people I may have ever encountered. They were Phillies' fans, so that wasn't much of a surprise. They were just being over-the-top obnoxious and I think anyone would agree. I made some pretty feisty comments, as usual, and thankfully they left once Philly was losing badly enough. My record is 9-2..... AWESOME!
Sunday I got up and went to spin class for the first time in several months. I successfully entered L.A. Fitness, which was great. It's always a coin toss going in there; I'm waiting for the day they stop me. I laid around like a lazy bum for most of Sunday and headed out to my parents' house for a wonderful dinner.
Today I woke up to the biggest disaster I've seen in Atlanta in my life. The amount of rainfall we've seen over the last several days is absolutely ridiculous, so the flooding was out of control. For Spaghetti Junction to have been closed, you know the world is screeching to a halt. I got into work two hours late because I was waiting for the roads to open up. I left work at about 4:15 p.m. to get a head start on the drive that eventually took me 1 hour and 45 minutes. I also had a parking ticket on my car today, so I want to commend the parking attendant who is heartless enough to go around ticketing people on what was already a miserable day for everyone I know. Jerk.
Improv was canceled tonight so my roommate and I hung out and had Gab Fest 2K9. We also went to Coldstone and I decided to get crazy with it tonight - instead of watermelon sorbet/gummy bears I got coffee/Twix. I hate to say it wasn't the best decision I've ever made. I should have gone with the old faithful.
Anyways, I'm heading to sleep. I have to get as much beauty rest as possible because we're taking staff photos tomorrow, barring the monsoon.

Moose tracks
So, I got some Moose Tracks ice cream today and was pretty excited about eating it. I decided to wait until the Braves scored a run to eat the ice cream because I knew I'd probably eat seven bowls if I could eat it whenever I wanted. Well, it's the bottom of the 5th inning now and I am still Moose Trackless. Now it's already so late that I will be up all night if I start eating my MT. I'm not sure why I made this deal with myself, and I have no idea why I haven't just broken the arrangement with myself.
I actually didn't make it to the library yesterday, but I did go today. I had a good time and got six different books. I already read one and I'm about one-fourth of the way done with another. I am pretty excited about them! The library was a madhouse today. The parking lot was almost full and people were in line for computers. My flip flops were squeaking so loudly in the library, so I was having to walk strange.
Yesterday I went to my seventh Braves game of the season and, yes, I still have a perfect record. I am pretty impressed with myself because the Braves' overall record doesn't make a 7-0 personal record easy for me. Well, I'm glad to have continued my winning streak, yet sad that the MOOSE TRACKS ice cream is yelling my name.
I went out last night and got rained on pretty significantly. My hair got pretty stinkin' wet. Then I noticed my high school prom date who I hadn't seen since prom, basically. We started talking and shared some good laughs. His friends were saying I looked like Tina Fey, so that was interesting. Then today I got an Elizabeth Shue, so I am pretty confused. I think I agree with Elizabeth Shue more than any of the others as of late, including Shawn Johnson.
Well, I guess I'm gonna go drink some orange Gatorade and look at the unopened Moose Tracks. SIGH!

Sunday Funday
The weekend is coming to a close....already. It was fun, though. Friday the Braves obliterated the Mets, improving my season record to 6-0. Ahh, what a great feeling! Saturday I went to spin class, got an oil change, got my hair did and went out. I had a good time people-watching and hanging out. Today I slept late, went to the pool, ate Mexican and am now sitting lazily on the couch watching the Braves.
I can't believe it's already nearing the end of July. It seems like time is passing so much faster than ever before. I guess maybe that's what happens when you stay busy and enjoy the days. Time flies when you're having fun (I thought of that on my own). I love summertime so much. I need to look into moving somewhere that has summer year-round.
I ordered a book on Amazon that should be getting here any day now. I was actually kind of expecting it already, but I will be patient. It's the 2009 Writer's Market and I'm excited for its arrival! Awwwwww, SNAP!
Well, I just popped off an Ambien in hopes of getting a good night's sleep. I figured my body would want to stay up late since I was up last night, so I proactively took a sleeping pill. What a responsible substance-user I am!!!
