Seat Yourself

Man, have you ever played Mad Gab? (I think that's the name.) That game is fun! I can't describe it easily, so just Google it. There was no point to this information, but it inspired the title of this post. The clue was "see chores elf," with the answer being "seat yourself." My mom kept repeating "see chores elf," and it sounded exactly like she was saying "seat yourself," but it just wasn't clicking. Yep, you needed to witness it yourself.

I feel hungry, but I've eaten plenty today. I'm on vacation, so I don't return to work until June 18. Woohoo!

My dad and I have been doing a decent bit of fishing in the ocean. So far we've caught 12 catfish, 4 whiting and 4 sharks -- all hammerheads. They are so adorable and have tiny little eyeballs!

Tonight I get to sleep in a real bed, so that's exciting! Moving on up! I'm excited because the floor has been somewhat anxiety-provoking ever since the R-word incident on night one. I don't want to talk about it.

I am so tired right now.

I guess I better go bask in the fact that I'm sleeping in a bed. This is a rare accomplishment on this particular trip.

CHARLEY HORSE!

Hey!

Man, last night when I was sleeping, I got the worst Charley horse in my leg. There's not a lot that makes me feel as out-of-control as a Charley Horse does. INTENSE!

Let's see... I came back to town on Wednesday; I was at the beach. My cousin and I flew back, so that was an adventure. Airplanes are pretty freaky, but it's not as bad when the entire flight is 42 minutes. The taking off and landing parts are what creep me out, but I remained pretty calm.

I was also in the newspaper on Wednesday. The CFF is hosting an event on Thursday, and the paper came to my [ransacked] place for an interview. You can access the article here. Celeb! I'm excited, too, because it mentions Drew's Crew!

So, the total fishing count for the beach was 12 sharks and 14 non-sharks. The sharks were so cute! I won't say that next year when one of 'em bites my leg off, but I liked them!

Yesterday I ate some funnel cake! I went to a festival and it poured! I don't know why I'm typing so many exclamation marks.

My floor and walls are still MIA right now, but I'm going to get insurance on the horn tomorrow for an update. It's a little frustrating that it's been almost a month since the fiasco and no repairs have been done yet, but I'm hoping we can get the show on the road this week.

I'm about to go to sleep. It's early and all of that, but I'm exhausted! I met KW at Starbucks this morning because I had to work on some stuff for the CF center communications plan. I got a lot accomplished, but I'm still not quite done.

I'm going to get up and exercise in the morning. MARK MY WORDS!

Shark Bites

Hi!

Yesterday my dad and I caught a shark in the ocean. He was so adorable! He felt exactly like I thought he would. He was about the size of a Shark Bites fruit snack. I LOVED HIM!

Mondaaaaaaaaay.

I will guard and protect your heart

That title is from last night's episode of the Bachelorette. All of the girls (almost all!) at the beach house watched together last night while enjoying glasses of wine. We decided to use "rose," "weatherman," and "here for the right reason" as drinking keywords. It was a lot of fun. I think I need to apply to be on there. I would be so ruthless.

In breaking news, my roommate called last night to let me know that a large branch has fallen on my car. WOOOHOOO! She was unsure as to whether or not there was damage, but I guess there's nothing I can do about it now... kind of like the regrettable decision to book on Spirit.

The other night I played Apples to Apples for the first time. I always thought it sounded a little questionable, but it was so much fun! I can't explain it, but I promise that you'd have to be a real loser to not like it. Take that! I think we're going to play it tonight.

The weather in Florida is very, very hot. It's weird because the sunlight was so much more direct in the Dominican, but the breeze there was much stronger. I can hardly stand to be outside here. Plus, I'm not really in the mood to go in the water to get bitten by a shark. I'm not having the best luck lately. I did find my first shark's tooth yesterday, followed by five more.

My cousin Becca and I went for a run yesterday and it was 98 degrees outside. WOW! We ran about 1.5 miles because it was entirely too hot. I am glad to have gone out and gotten some exercise, though.

I wrote all of that early this morning and then got interrupted and didn't finish.

I had my first hint of good luck today! Some of the guys have been trying to catch fish, sharks, etc. I literally caught a fish in the ocean on my first cast. My total for the day was five fish. Everyone was pretty impressed and a little envious. My dad acted as my caddie. We might get up early and try to catch some sharks before sunrise. WATCH ME GO! All of my fish were pretty small (6-10 inches), but they were really cute. I am satisfied.

I guess we're about to start getting dinner in the works, so I'm outta here.
