Yeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrp

Hello world!

It's Thursday night of the longest week known to man. I'm being a bit dramatic there, but it feels like this week has gone on forever. I am so tired right now that my blinks are lasting 43x their normal length, and it's not even 10:00 p.m. I am going to sleep like a baby tonight!

Well, what's new with me? I don't know. I am going to go stream-of-consciousness here, but what's new in that regard?

My little Noodle doggie is sitting in the computer chair being the cutest thing known to man. Apparently "known to man" is the best phrase known to man. I love her warm little torso. Aww, she just sighed. That was the sweetest sound known to man.

The Falcons are playing right now. Yeehaw! Obviously it's preseason football, but I've missed it. I actually went to the first preseason game last thursday with RA. My brother-in-law (How weird is that?!) offered me tickets the day of, and I snatched those babies right up. The game was fun. It's a lot less stressful watching preseason football than it is the real deal.

Speaking of football, I am managing a fantasy football league this season. Our draft is next Monday night, and I am way excited! Fantasy football = real fun. I can't wait to get unreasonably competitive over something that I can't control. That's my idea of a good time!

I've gotten back on the post-hospital exercise bandwagon. I'd been exercising some here and there, but I'm once again trying to meet my 180-minutes-a-week goal. I'm in pretty good shape time-wise for this week; I need to get 55 minutes over the next two days. Fifty-five, shmifty-five.

Today I had a tiny red velvet cupcake.

I have a lot of work to accomplish tomorrow. This week has been insanely chaotic. I haven't had a week like this in quite some time.

Okay, I've reached the point of exhaustion where I'm staring randomly into thin air. I think it's time to put an end to the most worthless blog post known to man.

Have a good night, creatures!

Klee. Nex.

Sometimes I feel like I have a lot to say and nothing to say simultaneously. Does that make me a headcase? Perhaps.

I'm tired and medicated and, given the time change, I should be sleeping already. I just got home from picking my sister up at the airport.

Sleep well. And smile!

Yen

Hi!

Well, I am all Cortisoned up since the last time I wrote. The injection went well; it was much easier than last time. It was the exact same procedure, but last time I had no idea what was going to happen. This time, though, I was mentally prepared to feel like my chest was collapsing, so I wasn't concerned when it happened. The soreness seems to be better this time, too, or maybe it's just that I was expecting it... Hopefully it will stop hurting in about 24 hours!

Umm, my friend AM is in town. Awesome! We have kept it pretty low-key, but we did go out to Willy's for lunch and had sushi for dinner with JM. It was like a Dominican Republic reunion. I love dinners with friends!

I'm exhausted because we stayed up really late after her arrival last night (or I guess technically today). We have agreed to sleep in tomorrow... big time!

My new phone is still making me really happy. I learn new tricks all day long!

We haven't figured out yet what we'll do tomorrow night, but I'm sure it will be fun. Cheers to a wonderful 2011, y'all! It's resolution time!

Hoooo, Hoooo, Hoooo

That title was me being Santa from A Christmas Story. We're in the throes of the 24-hour marathon (or whatever it is nowadays!), and I always find myself repeating Santa's angry "Hoooo, Hoooo, Hoooo" before he stomps on Ralphie's fingers.

Anyway, mentioning A Christmas Story is the perfect segue into last night's improv show since we did what we liked to call A Christmas Improv. It was a fun show and I had a lot of friends and family members supporting me. A mainstager who's in school in LA was home for the holidays, so he performed with us (Damien). I played Questions and Advice, Narration Switch, and Emo Interview (changing). Cheers to my last show in 2010!

I'm very tired, but I felt like writing anyway. I can't believe it's almost Christmas. This year was unbelievably long, but incredibly short at the same time. It always baffles me how I can feel that way. You know what I'm talking about, though...

Today I got a new phone, so I'm pretty excited about that. It's fancy! I'm enjoying it because I had lost all patience with the pitiful phone I was using as a replacement. This phone is doing crazy-cool things so far and I realize I have probably only seen 1% of what it has to offer. High five for technology!

I really wrote this post to tell everyone happy holidays. This is always a thought-provoking time of year, and there are many things that make me grateful. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this year wonderful!

It's pouting time

I'm in an unexplained bad mood right now. I really can't rationalize it, but I think it's probably a combination of being tired and having a long to-do list. WHATEVER.

Thursday's show was awesome! It was sold out and we got a standing ovation. Hoorah! I was in a straight scene, ABC Buzzer, Emo Second Date (not changing emotions), Meet the Holiday Experts and Oscar Musical. The audience was great and had a lot of energy, so we responded with a lot of energy. I enjoyed myself! 'Tis the season...

Friday I telecommuted for a bit and went into work for another little bit. One of my colleagues (HA!) was having her going away party, so we all went to El Azteca for happy hour. Me, TO, and a couple work friends (KQ and SS) then went to the theatre to watch the show. It, too, was a sellout, so we watched it from the cafe.

Yesterday I made myself useless for a lot of the day and then covered someone's lights shift at the theatre. That definitely wasn't in my plans, but duty called. Soooooo, I stayed up way too late again. I did get a present, though, from ES! I got the Elf DVD (LOVE IT!), some rum (LOVE IT!), and the Jimmy Eat World CD (LOVE THE TRACKS I'VE HEARD!).

I'm pretty sure it's nap time.

Yo, Drizzle

So, tonight when I went to meet MV at Starbucks, I got a Caramel Apple Spice drink. I told the guy I didn't want any whipped cream. Then, I was sitting there waiting and he said, "Do you want any caramel drizzle?" I thought it was hilarious because there was once a time when the word 'drizzle' was interchangeable with my name. I used to be 'Drizzle' to so many people that I would turn my head when the meteorologist said there was a chance of drizzle. I'd be like, "WHAT UP, WEATHER MIZZLE!" It was really hard to keep my mouth shut and not make a joke to Mr. Starbizzle, but he wouldn't have understood.

Also, it's been rainy all stinkin' day, so the title is a play on words. You're welcome.

I am as tired as can be. Tomorrow is going to be such a long day, too, beginning with a meeting at 7:00 a.m. I think I've officially made celebrity status because a driver will be taking me to my ENT appointment tomorrow. Basically, my presence at this meeting is so in-demand that I am being chauffeured to and from the doctor after the meeting. Isn't that awesome? Anyway, I'm excited because it's my first meeting as a member of the Program Steering Committee for the newly-formed CF Center of Excellence in Atlanta. I'm going to be in a room with all doctors and researchers. I love furthering CF research.

I had Willy's today and oh. my. heavens. Unbelievable. I also felt like a celebrity when I went in there. The workers were talking about my new hair, and the girl at the register (who I thought was mute) was like, "Where are your glasses?" I about dropped my nachos because I was startled, but I told her they were on my desk.

Well, I think that's about all the narcissism I can handle for the day, so I'll go to sleep and dream of myself. :-) GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD VIBES!

Drinkin' the Kool-Aid

Yo! Yo! Yo! Those exclamations actually represent tiredness, contrary to popular belief.

Has anybody ever played Purble Place? It's a Microsoft game, I believe, and it has a fun memory, card-matching option. When I first discovered it years ago, I used to play it obsessively. I've calmed down over the years, but I'm on another kick right now. It's getting to be problematic.

Bless me. I just sneezed for the sixth-ish time today.

Well, I am WORN OUT! I got up at about 5:00 a.m. and was at work by 7:00 a.m. On the way into the office, I got an EGGNOG LATTE! I had it for the first time on Friday night and couldn't decide what I thought of it. So, I got it again today and I still haven't come to a conclusion. I feel like getting it again tomorrow, though, so that's got to be a good sign, right?

Today some colleagues and I went out to eat at Top Spice. I like saying 'colleagues' because I feel like it makes me sound prestigious. I never said it at my previous workplaces, but I enjoy saying it now because it's funny to me.

I didn't work out today, but I did wear some suede boots. Those two thoughts shouldn't be joined in one sentence because they're completely separate, but I like to illustrate the way my mind works. Now (to the other end of the fashion spectrum), though, I'm wearing a tie-dyed sweatshirt I got at the Piggly Wiggly in Port St. Joe, Florida.

If anyone has any publishing connections, feel free to let me take advantage of you. I mean that with all of my heart.

Can you even believe that tomorrow is the last day of November? Me either. It's pretty absurd.

If I could turn back time

Don't you wish I would stop quoting songs in my post titles?

I just got home from working my last crew shift of September. Now, that's technically a slight fabrication because I think I'll be helping out at a [repeat] graduation show on the 21st. Either way, it feels good to have that out of the way early in the month. That means I have some full-fledged weekends ahead of me! And, when I say "weekends," I mean "one weekend" because I have to work at homecoming on the weekend of the 24th. I trained someone on lights tonight. I'm not sure how successful I was at training because there was only one show and he didn't really get to practice, but he seemed to get it - the light bulb seemed to go off for him. HAAAAA!

Last night's show (I guess two nights ago now) was a lot of fun! The piano guy was sick, so we had to do it musicianless! That was a first. I played Repeat Scene Direction (masculine, nerdy ninja, schizophrenic), Foreign-Dubbed Soap Opera, Remote Control Styles, ABC Buzzer Cooking Show, and Helping Hands Oscar. It was so much fun! The crowd wasn't gigantic by any means, but they were really supportive and it seemed like everyone in the cast had a blast. It was such a great end to a somewhat stressful [mass-emailing] day. For the first time ever, a patron told me she laughed so hard she cried. SUCCESS!

Today I swam some laps during lunch. I've been soooo horrible at exercising lately and decided I'd give it a whirl today. It was enjoyable, even though I didn't swim all that much. Tomorrow I plan to run for a while. I'm kind of in that chicken-versus-egg-not-working-out-because-I'm-too-tired-but-tired-because-I'm-not-working-out scenario. Time to correct that JUNK!

Tomorrow I have a friend leading a team (SW) at the Great Strides walk at the University of West Georgia. I am so thankful to have an extension of Drew's Crew -- Drew's Crew Two -- representing at the walk tomorrow. I was hoping to make it, but should have requested off from the theatre in advance. I feel loved even though I am supporting from a distance.

Bedtime for me. I'm exhausted. Even though this week was short, it was JAM-PACKED! I got my CT scan done Thursday, but haven't heard back from the doctor. I'm eager to get that sinus surgery on the books.

Good night, world!

T-N-T. DynaMITE.

I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long. Yeah, a couple days isn't all that long or anything, but I'm just surprised. Part of it, I think, was that I was tired this week and slept better than last week.

Thursday's show was fun. It was sold out, so that was exciting! I played Sit Stand Lean Oscar, Repeat Scene Family Type, Buzzer Talk Show, Narration Switch, and Musical Styles. The audience was kind of quiet for it to be a sold out show, but they all seemed pretty pleased when we came out to mingle after the show.

Yesterday I got an oil change. I know that's not exciting at all, but I did it. I don't like dealing with anything like that, but it's a lot easier since I have a maintenance plan and don't have to barter with anyone or pay anything.

Last night I went to the Braves game. I hate to say that I was handed my first loss of the 2010 season. Also, because of the Phillies' hot streak and the Braves' evenish streak, the Braves are only one game ahead in the NL East. We've been in first for so long that we simply can't let ourselves fall behind. No sir. I had a blast at the game, though. It started two hours late because there was a rain delay, but I didn't get rained on much and I enjoyed myself!

I'm hoping to make it to the library today.

Spirit Airlines = BIG Mistake

I really need to go to sleep, but I have a few things to get off my chest...

Spirit Airlines is horrible.
I am on the couch at the beach house in Ponte Vedra.
My bag was in New York City last I heard.
I am wearing a Delta t-shirt, but also want to punch Delta.

Now put those pieces together.

I have so many stories wanting to be told, but I'm a little bummed because, since I didn't go home before I came here, I don't have my laptop and will be using the communal one. I'll make it happen.

BEDTIME.

Wow

Sooooooooooo, this is really random, but I literally happened upon a guy on Facebook that I met about 12 years ago - maybe even 13. It would be a little bit embarrassing if he were reading this, but I met him back in the late 90s (so weird to say) when I attended a CF camp in the Florida Keys. I haphazardly clicked on this CFer on Facebook and this other guy's name stuck out like a sore thumb. I met him the summer before seventh grade, and he was about 31 years old if I remember correctly. I just really idolized him because he would try to get us all to go running in the morning before breakfast. I wrote some letters to him after camp and have pictures of us on a snorkeling trip. Anyway, I remember searching for him on Facebook a long time ago because I've never forgotten meeting him, but I couldn't find him at the time. I hope he remembers me. CFers have this weird bond; it's kind of like that bond that twins have that can't be explained.

Well, last night didn't quite go according to plan. I'm not sure if I wrote this or simply thought it, but I had every intention of going to bed early last night since I was home early (before 10) and knew I had a long day ahead of me. For some reason, when I laid down for bed, I just wasn't tired at all. I was trying to think of every trick in the book for getting to bed, but nothing was making me tired. I truly can't remember the last time it took two hours to fall asleep after I laid down, but it was frustrating. I also woke throughout the night, and found myself really restless. It looks like that's the payback for staying up too late on the weekends.

I don't have a whole lot to say about today. There's work-related things that I could elaborate on, but that wouldn't be a ton of fun. I had some meetings and what not. The perk of the day was that I had some steak nachos at Willy's. Dang, I want some right now.

It's tough because I'm getting tired and don't want to miss this opportunity. After last night, I feel like I should start trying to sleep as early as possible. Wow, it's after midnight.

Well, today was an okay one. I didn't work out, but I did try on a bathing suit I received from an online purchase and it fit okay. I wonder what I'll think of it tomorrow. The bottom line is that tomorrow will involve an intense workout.

It was 1980-something

Well, I am tired and really shouldn't be writing this. I am up way later than planned. I had every intention of getting in bed before 10:00 p.m., but I was up trying to finalize some roommate stuff. Now I don't even feel sleepy...

Today was a pretty good day. It's kind of weird not having Drew's Crew to talk about anymore. I remember last year that I experienced some post-walk funk because of the rush I get raising money for the CF Foundation. Well, I guess I can still talk about Drew's Crew because I got two $100 donations today, as well as an envelope with $358 from a good friend who couldn't make it to the walk. If I'm adding things up correctly, this will all total to be more than $21,300. I can't wait to see the total continue to rise! I mean, it's over, but donations can still come in and I won't refuse them when they do! Logistically I couldn't refuse them if I wanted to, but I was being expressive.

I exercised today, and it felt GOOD! I ran on the treadmill for about a mile. Then I hopped on the elliptical for a little while, and ended with another bout on the treadmill. It totaled to be more than 40 minutes of exercise (about 44), so I'm glad. The whole being-up-late thing is sort of interfering with the plan I had to exercise tomorrow morning. However, I think I'm still going to do it because tomorrow's a big day and I could use the good start...

RANDOMIZATION THURSDAY!!!! I have to be at Emory by 8:00 a.m., so that's pretty stinkin' early. However, I'm just looking forward to it. The photographer is going to come and it should be a good time! I'm interested to see what my PFTs are. I have been feeling a tiny bit funky for the last two weeks(ish), so I have no idea what to expect PFT-wise. Only time will tell...

Speaking of, 'only time will tell' is probably a good thing for me to remember right now. Of the things in my life that aren't quite what I would like, they really are all things that ought to be corrected with time. Sometimes I wish time could be sped up so that change wasn't so difficult and life lessons didn't take so long, but oh well... How ironic. Lately I have been so focused on there not being enough time, yet today I'm proposing the idea of fast-forwarding time. This is one of life's many complexities that I love!

Today I was thinking about my book, mainly because of an inspiring message I received. I need to quit talking/thinking and start doing/writing. The darn thing isn't going to write itself.

I've got a show to do tomorrow. Good night!

Cure Found

I don't have much to say, but figured I'd say something...

I'm getting ready for bed. My face has been aching from allergies today. In fact, I worked from home in an effort to recuperate. I really don't want to have to reschedule my study appointment, but I feel like I might have to if my symptoms don't improve. I hope that tomorrow I'll wake up feeling better since the rain helped wash away some of the pollen today.

THIS JUST IN: $100 donation from a complete stranger! Man, I am excited. Now I've gotta investigate to see if anyone knows this person... People are good.

In other CFF-related news, I am tentatively doing an improv benefit show on May 11. I secured some free event space today, and am in the process of ironing out the details. This should be a really great, profitable event. That makes me happy.

I don't have a lot to say. I am just tired.

Sleepay

So. Tired.

Today in summary:

I didn't sleep too well, but got up and got gasoline para mi coche and an iced mocha latte before work (Starbucks).

When I got to work, I began by cleaning off my desk. I have no idea why I would do that, other than trying to get motivated. I had a huge stack of random papers on my desk and now they're gone. Awesome. Then, being that it's the biggest mass email day of the month, I was surprised to find that our mass email tool was down. For several hours. Soooo, that brought my work for the day to a screeching halt.

During the time in which I was trying to maintain my sanity, tomorrow night's emcee called me to see if I had plans for tomorrow (Friday) night. Hoping this was going somewhere good, I said I didn't and got asked if I would like to be in the show tomorrow night. I giddily said yes and literally galloped around the office for a few moments. I'm a combination of nervous and psyched, but mostly psyched! It will be fun getting to perform with the mainstagers! I bet I will learn a lot.

I then went and ate steak nachos at Willy's.

The system was up and running for me when I got back, so I got as much done as I could. I didn't get everything accomplished that was on the agenda today, but I made a great effort given the circumstances.

Then I headed to Midtown for tonight's show. I had so much fun tonight, and literally used every ounce of energy I had! I played ABC Buzzer, Repeat Scene Styles (Gladiator, Soap Opera, High School Musical), Helping Hands Oscar (handless), Script in Hand (off-book), and Sounds Like a Song/Rap. Man, it was a lot of fun! [INTERRUPTION: DONATION ALERT!] My parents and a few friends came, including my faaaaaavorite nurse ever. I looooooooooove Script in Hand; it is in my top games!

That donation was the perfect segue to say that Drew's Crew is at $9,777. I hope to hit $10,000 by the end of the week. Have I already mentioned that? I feel like I've already said that. Okay, I'm teasing with you - I had this conversation with myself last night, but I meant it last night. I forgot to look back and see if I'd really said it the day before.

So, how about I go to sleep?! I've got to do some resting so I am energized for tomorrow night!

Givin' Lip

I'll go ahead and say that the title of this post has nothing to do with actually giving lip... I am wearing a shirt that someone gave me because it was too small, and it is a white tank top with the words "Givin' Lip" in pink writing. I actually kind of love it because it's worthless.

Well, I just got home from rehearsal. I guess you can't really call it rehearsal because we actually went hanging up posters around Midtown - at least that's the group my area tackled. [Side bar: I just noticed after posting that I said "group my area tackled" instead of "area my group tackled." I have been doing backwards things like this for a few days, so I'm leaving it as-is for a trip down memory lane.] It was a fun change of pace, but we walked around a lot and I'm feeling kinda worn out. I guess that's good since I should be heading to sleep soon!

Umm, Drew's Crew is at $9,602!!!!! I really, really hope to hit $10,000 by the week's end. Did I say that yesterday? Or say it in my mind? Either way, it's still the truth! I think I did say it. (Can you tell I'm delirious?)

What elsssssssse? I went to the fitness center for a little chunk during lunchtime today. I got in a pretty good workout. I ran for a little on the treadmill, then hopped on the elliptical, then did some sprints on the treadmill, and topped it off with walking at an incline. I didn't feel like I could exert myself in the way that I do when I'm feeling my best, but I was able to do moderately intense things for a decent length of time, so that was good!

I am kinda at a loss of things to say, which is surprising.

I better take advantage of this 'being tired' thing while it's still accurate.

Oh, my boss is going to have a baby any day now. I don't know why it is nerveracking for me! I'm not the one giving birth, but I am just anxiously waiting...in a neutral way. The actual due date is April 22, so I am trying to be prepared, but I don't think I will be. I will miss her while she's on maternity leave.

Okay. Done.

Dreeeeeeeeeeeams

I am really writing to say that I'm too tired to write anything, but felt like saying hi anyway. I just got home from my double-shift at the theatre and find myself soooo exhausted that it's unreal! The most exciting part is that I am about to conk out. Wooo!

Today was NOT a productive day. I slept until after 11:00 a.m. Then, I got up and sat around for quite a while. I ended up opening a Word document and writing whatever I felt like writing. Ya know how I mentioned my book and how I wanted to work on it this weekend? Well, I decided to try this new thing called 'start over.' I know that's a ridiculous thing to consider when I'm at 200ish pages of the book, but it's revamping with a clean slate in mind. As I get inspired to tell stories that I know I've already written about, I'll retrieve them from the old document. Who knows... I'm basically just rambling at this point. I've just been feeling kind of empty lately, but I know I'm not empty.

I didn't work out Friday or today, but whatever.

I went to the library today to return several books and browse and see what tickled my fancy. For the first time since I got my library card, I did not check out a book. I was just feeling kind of unattached to anything I picked up. Plus, I know that reading will inhibit my writing. Soooooo, I am library bookless for the first time in as long as I can remember.

Finally, before I headed downtown, I met my sister for El Toro. It was gooooooooooood. On that note, it's bedtime.

Goldilocks

Mmmm, I am more tired than I should be at 9:10 p.m. on a Saturday. Oh well.

This morning I got up a little after 8:00 a.m. because there was a lot of loud banging outside. It sounded like someone was knocking on our door, but that wasn't the case. I'm still not sure what it was, but it was obnoxious enough to prevent me from going back to sleep. That wasn't too completely horrible, though, because I wanted to get up and exercise before I went to get my hair did.

I went to the fitness center and got in a pretty good workout this morning. I did a combination of jogging, stairing, and sprinting. I think my workout totaled almost 40 minutes, so that felt worthwhile. I forgot to mention (I think) that I got up and worked out before work on Wednesday. So, this was the best week I've had fitness-wise in quite some time. I think it helped me maintain my sanity despite the week's activities.

Then I headed to get my new hairdo. I ended up getting....drumroll....goldenish highlights and about an inch cut off. The color is pretty. I don't know that other people will notice it as much as I do, but it feels pretty drastic to me; I think because that was the longest I'd gone in quite some time without having done anything color-wise. I'm trying to get used to it. The cut looks super-cute with a lot of body, though. I wish the hairstyler could fix it for me every morning because I don't know that I'll be able to replicate it. Anyway, I think the color makes me look a bit warmer.

After my hair appointment, I met my friend at IHOP! Yes, I sound like an IHOP fanatic, but in all actuality, last weekend was the first time I'd gone since I went with this same friend last year. I got the pancake platter with bacon, as I did last weekend, and it was just as good. We talked about a variety of topics, and she gave me some much-needed reassurance on my book.

I had every intention of working on my book tonight, but it seems like it just wasn't in the cards. Ha! I've actually been trying to keep my eyes open for several hours, so I haven't had quite the energy I'd like in order to write. I wish I had a drill sergeant here making me get things accomplished. Oh well. This blog is an accomplishment, even though it's a bit worthless and uneventful.

The Super Bowl is tomorrow. It's funny because I just really haven't followed football much this year. Ever since the Falcons decided to lose all of their games, I kind of lost interest. Plus, my schedule has gotten significantly busier lately, so I quit spending my Sundays watching football. Anyway, I don't know if I'll watch the game or not. It's pretty late on a Sunday night considering how long Monday will be (We have late rehearsal again). So, we'll see what happens tomorrow... Man, I've gotten old.

Well, maybe I'll force myself to contribute something to my book before I go to sleep.

One of those days

Today was one of those days. It was one of those days where, no matter what I did, I couldn't get in a good mood. Maybe it was the fact that it was Monday, that I was tired, that the weather was dreary, that the holiday stress is upon me... I don't know. But all I can say is that I am so happy to be in this bed of mine ready to hit the hay.

Well, I have yet to do any Christmas shopping and I realize that in two hours it will only be ten days away. I'm not sure where the time has gone, but it seems like I've lived in a vacuum all year; the time escapes me and I can't seem to track it down. While I enjoy the holidays, I also find them particularly draining. There's so much preparation to do, things to wrap up at work, etc.

I haven't yet decided what days I'm going to take off for the rest of the year. I was toying with the idea of not taking off any - We get off the 24th, 25th, 31st, and 1st. However, I think I'm going to go absolutely insane if I don't do something more. I may try to telecommute a bit since my typical telecommute day (Friday) falls on two of the vacation days.

Today was our division-wide holiday party. I wasn't sure what to expect, so I can't really say whether or not it met my expectations. I was hoping there might be some adult beverages and what not, but what can I say... the budget doesn't support it. Blaaaaaaaaaaah.

Well, I had improv tonight and, after the events of the day, you can imagine that I wasn't exactly in the mood to try to entertain. In fact, if I could have done anything, I would have come home and been antisocial, probably falling asleep by 8:00 p.m. However, I toughed it out and, in summation, I didn't perform as horrendously as I thought I could.

Time to finally do what I've been dreaming of all day.....SLEEP. Tomorrow will definitely be better than today. Pessimistic Patty signing off.

Why you so obsessed with me?

Gosh, I am so tired right now. I'm not even sure what I'm doing and why I'm not asleep. It feels like today should already be next Monday because this week has been so long.

Well, yesterday at work we had our holiday door decorating contest. Unfortunately, the person I planned to team up with was at a conference, so I gracefully bowed out. There was a Bah Humbug category, so maybe I'll win that. But probably not. BAH HUMBUG! I love stuff like that, but I also know how ridiculously competitive I get, so it's probably best that I didn't participate.

Last night we had our annual homeowners' meeting. Let's just say it was interesting... and I think I got some good character ideas for improv. I'm glad I went because I find stuff like that thoroughly amusing. I also wish I hadn't gone because it's time I'll never get back, but oh well. At least I know my dues are increasing since nobody will probably tell me.

Today was a pretty good day. I feel like I got a lot accomplished at work, but I can't even tell you what I meant by that because I'm not sure. I went to Starbucks during lunch and wrote/read some, so that was a nice use of time. I also got on the elliptical today before I headed home. I got in a pretty good workout, if I do say so myself. Then, I came home and wasted the night away. I ate a little bit and read some more. I just tried to straighten up my room a bit, but I got tired and started sitting in bed instead.

Tomorrow is our holiday party at work. It starts at noon and then we get to enjoy an early release, so it's going to be a short day. It's too bad I have kind of a lot of stuff to do, but I'll just take care of the rest of it from home after the party if need be. I'm excited to get to leave work early. Yeeeehaw!

I just wrote this entire thing and decided I didn't say anything worthwhile. Oh well. Sometimes I just don't have anything exciting to say... or I'm too tired to make it sound exciting. Night!

Sleepy sloth

I am pretty stinkin' tired right now, but sometimes that's when I write the most entertaining things. Not that I just promised this would be entertaining by any means...

Today was a pretty good day; in fact, the workday flew by. I got to work at about 7:00 a.m. and it was almost 9:00 a.m. before anyone else arrived. That's nice because it gives me a chance to crack down in the mornings and knock some things out before I start getting distracted. I accomplished so much in the first two hours of the day. I also listened to some good music on Pandora - I started with Kenny Chesney and then ended up listening to The Juliana Theory.

I had a meeting from about 10:00 a.m. to noon, so that was a significant chunk of the day. After the meeting, I knocked a few things out before I arbitrarily journeyed to Kroger during lunchtime.

I got the following items at Kroger: a caesar salad with bacon, a box of Cheez-Its, and a bag of Sour Slices. The salad was a poor decision on my part; I rarely even enjoy eating salad - so much work with no reward. I wanted something quick and was too lazy to wait at the deli. The Cheez-Its are always a win, so that's a no-brainer. The Sour Slices are interesting. You know those orange slices that are basically like gum drops? Well, Sour Slices look the same, but have a kick to them. They're pretty exciting, I guess.

After work, my uncle came over and I helped him write a cover letter for a position he found online. I worked on that until my brain almost fell out, and then we went out to eat...you guessed it...Mexican! The Mexican food made up for that horrendous salad that I bought on a whim. I still don't even know what must have come over me in that moment of weakness.

Now I am dozing off as I type this, thinking about how I will speak at a CF Foundation event after work tomorrow. I'll probably figure out what I want to say when I'm killing time between work and the event. You know what they say... I'll stop procrastinating starting tomorrow.
