Sometimes I feel like I have a lot to say and nothing to say simultaneously. Does that make me a headcase? Perhaps.
I'm tired and medicated and, given the time change, I should be sleeping already. I just got home from picking my sister up at the airport.
Sleep well. And smile!

Wow
Sooooooooooo, this is really random, but I literally happened upon a guy on Facebook that I met about 12 years ago - maybe even 13. It would be a little bit embarrassing if he were reading this, but I met him back in the late 90s (so weird to say) when I attended a CF camp in the Florida Keys. I haphazardly clicked on this CFer on Facebook and this other guy's name stuck out like a sore thumb. I met him the summer before seventh grade, and he was about 31 years old if I remember correctly. I just really idolized him because he would try to get us all to go running in the morning before breakfast. I wrote some letters to him after camp and have pictures of us on a snorkeling trip. Anyway, I remember searching for him on Facebook a long time ago because I've never forgotten meeting him, but I couldn't find him at the time. I hope he remembers me. CFers have this weird bond; it's kind of like that bond that twins have that can't be explained.
Well, last night didn't quite go according to plan. I'm not sure if I wrote this or simply thought it, but I had every intention of going to bed early last night since I was home early (before 10) and knew I had a long day ahead of me. For some reason, when I laid down for bed, I just wasn't tired at all. I was trying to think of every trick in the book for getting to bed, but nothing was making me tired. I truly can't remember the last time it took two hours to fall asleep after I laid down, but it was frustrating. I also woke throughout the night, and found myself really restless. It looks like that's the payback for staying up too late on the weekends.
I don't have a whole lot to say about today. There's work-related things that I could elaborate on, but that wouldn't be a ton of fun. I had some meetings and what not. The perk of the day was that I had some steak nachos at Willy's. Dang, I want some right now.
It's tough because I'm getting tired and don't want to miss this opportunity. After last night, I feel like I should start trying to sleep as early as possible. Wow, it's after midnight.
Well, today was an okay one. I didn't work out, but I did try on a bathing suit I received from an online purchase and it fit okay. I wonder what I'll think of it tomorrow. The bottom line is that tomorrow will involve an intense workout.

GOOOOOOD Friday
Hi y'all!
I write you tonight with a smiling heart. Today has been such a great day, primarily due to the major advancements made by Drew's Crew! I, as an individual, raised $577 today - through a mere four donations! A really great friend left me in complete and utter shock with her generous donation, and it's like that positive energy carried into other people as well. It seemed like every time I logged onto Facebook, someone new was posting my link, which means a lot to me. Drew's Crew's up-to-date online total is $6,762!!! While it's not officially official yet, there is approximately $1,000 in checks that haven't been posted online yet. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE MAGNITUDE OF HOW HAPPY I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I stopped by my mom's school to meet her kindergarten students. I haven't been able to go there in quite a while (pretty much since I finished college), so it was super-exciting to get to see all of the children. The kids were participating in an egg hunt today, and immediately upon entering the classroom, a student asked me if I was the Easter bunny. Man, that cracks me up. I've considered teaching and seeing those little kids today pulled at my heartstrings. I typically have a problem with children, but they were sooooooooo adorable.
I'll throw one tiny little twinge of negativity in here, more for informational purposes than anything. I have been doing really great pain-wise in the lungs since Tuesday, but today I got some more dagger-like pains. It's tough to imagine pain like this not being caused by something of concern, but they stopped shortly after taking the prescription Motrin. I had one 30-minute episode of being short-of-breath, too, so I guess I'm still monitoring this... That headache is lingering, too. I wonder if it has to do with a lack of oxygen or something.
ANYWAY! I'll end on a positive note. Tonight I got a post on my Facebook from a father of a CFer who said that my posting has motivated him to start fundraising again. That makes me very happy, so a shout-out to him!
As you go to sleep tonight, send some positive thoughts to a blog friend of mine who ought to be in the throes of a double-lung transplant right now. Someone's about to be breathing easy!

Holy rejuvenation
I am just smiling on the inside today. I want to laugh at everything.
Yesterday was incredible. The writing class I went to was literally life-changing. Holy. Mack. Er. Al. I can't even explain it, so I won't try. Just know that I am really excited and woke up feeling like a changed person. Part of me wonders if subliminal messages were playing throughout the duration of the class, but, whatever the case, it worked. WOOOHOOOO! Mark yesterday in your day planner, children.
So, I heard an interesting thing yesterday - "The longer it takes you to do anything, the more screwed up it's going to be." I've never really thought about things that way, but it totally makes sense. I heard, "Think about it - If it took me fourteen months to make a cake, would you really want a piece of it?" For some reason that makes me laugh uncontrollably. How true is that, though? Sometimes people think the amount of time put into something makes it better, but the length of time is irrelevant.
Anyway, I ate some Jell-O this morning. SIDE NOTE.
Tomorrow I have off work and am going to a wedding. Weddings are always interesting to me. It should be fun, and I'm looking forward to it.
Well, have a swell day, and don't bake a fourteen-month cake.

Immersion
HAPPY FRIDAY. It's the Friday before a holiday weekend. Heck yes! I am in the process of getting caffeinated. It would be so awesome if people didn't need sleep. I love sleeping, but being tired sucks.
I check the weather all the time and I have no idea why. It's not like it matters what the weather is like when I am sitting inside. Maybe checking the weather becomes an obsession when there isn't a window in sight. Or perhaps I'm just a fool.
So, I heard something kinda cute on the way to work this morning. Someone on the radio said this little bit of wisdom: "A smile is a curve that sets everything straight." How adorable is that! It makes me think about how great it is when you find yourself laughing at something in your head. I have found myself doing that a lot lately. Not in a psychotic way, but in a smiling-on-the-inside kinda way.
Oh yeah - So, I just glanced at what I had already titled this and realized I hadn't talked about that yet. Anyways, I am reading a cool book titled Standing at Water's Edge. It's about creativity and it's really interesting so far. It kind of helps dissect the creative process and the thought processes of creators. It is about how people enter into states of creative immersion through different hobbies, relationships, etc. I know this is heavy thinking for a Friday morning, but I want to read more of it, so I figured I'd yap about it for a moment.
Time to focus. Peace out, player-haters.
