I'm at one of those points again where the world just feels like it's spinning out of control. I literally feel like I blogged yesterday, but apparently it's been four days. In some respects that makes me glad because I know I'm out and about accomplishing things. In other ways, though, it's discouraging because I know I'm not stopping to smell the roses, which is kinda stressing me out.
Well, I will vomit if I talk about the Braves game on Wednesday. My record has dropped to 6 and 4. BLAH BLAH BLAH. The Braves and I are not on great terms right now, but I was happy for a win tonight.
My surgery is officially on the books for October 11. I'm not sure yet what the plan is as far as getting admitted, going on IV antibiotics, taking off from work, etc. Honestly I'm still processing the fact that it's scheduled, so I'll give it a few days to start finalizing those details. I feel a sense of relief, but I'm also overwhelmed.
I was in the show last night and it was fun! It was one of the new apprentices' (AF) first shows, so that was cool. He and I were in every scene together, too! I played Remote Control Styles, Musical Styles (80s love ballad, 90s boy band, R&B, rap), Repeat Scene Stereotypes (drag queens, drunk drug dealers, rednecks), and Oscar Musical Funeral (as Barbara Buchanan). Yeeehaw!
Today I met my siblings (and my brother's girlfriend) for lunch at Chick-fil-A. Then, for dinner, I went to Los Bravos with KW. I needed to get out and do something because today was kinda 'mleh.' I had a great time. We watched a documentary called Dear Zachary and it was really interesting. Although today had its ups and downs, I'm thankful to be ending on an 'up.'
Sleeping sounds so awesome right now! I am really excited to sleep and feel new in the morning!

You are the only exception
Well, I went to the Braves game tonight (ES!). As much as it pains me to say it, they got absolutely destroyed. Tommy Hanson gave up solo HRs to the first two batters, so it just didn't start off the way I would have liked. After a saddening loss (score: 7-1), I saw my first Friday night fireworks of the season. That was definitely the highlight of the night! The last two were rained out, but I finally succeeded.
So, when I went to type "Friday," I accidentally typed "Fridney," which reminds me that I've been having a lot of conversations about my kidneys lately. I ended up getting ultrasounded yesterday. While I haven't officially spoken to the doctor, I've gotten word that my kidneys have changed from the initial pre-study ultrasound. All I really heard was something about how one used to be 9cm and is now over 10cm. Hmm, I guess that could explain some of the pain. The lack of urgency makes me think that nobody's overly concerned, but I hope to talk to a doctor on Monday.
Today was my last Summer Friday, and I'm not exactly pleased with how I spent it. That sounds kind of depressing, but I really have nothing to show for it aside from the Braves game. It was the epitome of a lazy day. I guess that's how it should have been, but I didn't even end up at the pool, the gym, or anything like that. Oh well! Maybe tomorrow.
I've been feeling kind of overwhelmed lately, but I think my interpretation of reality is skewed since I haven't been in tip-top physical shape. Sometimes I wonder how much our minds and bodies truly affect each other. I'm totally starting to philosophize, but I've felt uncharacteristically unhealthy this summer, and it seems like my happiness has been wavering, too. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? It crosses my mind all the time.
Now let me use some sleep to heal my mind and body! :) I'm requesting that positive energy be sent my way!

T-N-T. DynaMITE.
I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long. Yeah, a couple days isn't all that long or anything, but I'm just surprised. Part of it, I think, was that I was tired this week and slept better than last week.
Thursday's show was fun. It was sold out, so that was exciting! I played Sit Stand Lean Oscar, Repeat Scene Family Type, Buzzer Talk Show, Narration Switch, and Musical Styles. The audience was kind of quiet for it to be a sold out show, but they all seemed pretty pleased when we came out to mingle after the show.
Yesterday I got an oil change. I know that's not exciting at all, but I did it. I don't like dealing with anything like that, but it's a lot easier since I have a maintenance plan and don't have to barter with anyone or pay anything.
Last night I went to the Braves game. I hate to say that I was handed my first loss of the 2010 season. Also, because of the Phillies' hot streak and the Braves' evenish streak, the Braves are only one game ahead in the NL East. We've been in first for so long that we simply can't let ourselves fall behind. No sir. I had a blast at the game, though. It started two hours late because there was a rain delay, but I didn't get rained on much and I enjoyed myself!
I'm hoping to make it to the library today.

Biggest loser
Tonight we played a fake round of Bunco. Well, the Bunco was real, but it wasn't for money. That's a shame because I actually would have won money. I wouldn't have won because I did well, but would have won because I was so horrible. I had the most losses out of the entire family. Wooohooo!
I really don't have much to say. I'm getting a little discouraged about the fact that the end of this vacation is so real. There's one more full day at the beach, and then I'll have Saturday night and Sunday at home before going back to work.
I'm glad because I get to sleep in a bed tonight. I can't wait to be in my own bed at home. I haven't slept in a room by myself in two weeks. Can you tell I'm kind of out of it? I'm tired and in a weird mood.
Well, I'm watching the Braves win right now, so that's a great feeling. Go Bravos!

what a day
At least the Braves didn't lose 17 to 2. Oh wait, they did. Darn.
I'd say the Braves score is indicative of my overall day. I know that's kind of melodramatic, but oh well. Today was one of those days where it was hard to snap out of it. ARGGGGH! At least it's about over...
Surprisingly, I was able to sleep through the night like I hadn't taken 6 hours of naps immediately before laying down for bed. I'm just amazed that I could sleep from almost 3:00 p.m. until 6:22 a.m. That's quite the accomplishment. Sadly, it's probably the biggest success of the day.
I did get up and exercise this morning, although it was extremely difficult to wake up this morning. I did about 32 minutes of varying activities in the fitness center, experiencing some of the same exercise ADD that I had yesterday. I then headed off to work where I kicked off my day with a lovely 1.5-hour meeting that we have once a month. I went out to eat for lunch (Mexican), so that was a highlight.
I went to Starbucks on the way to rehearsal because I figured I needed some kind of fake enthusiasm in order to do a good job. It's getting increasingly difficult to go to rehearsal with an open mind on Mondays after work. Mmm, maybe if I anticipate it on Mondays from here on out, it won't take me by surprise. Anyway, rehearsal was a lot of fun. We played ABC Buzzer and Blind Scene, and the fact that I hadn't had a good day didn't cross my mind once!
Well, tomorrow's the big day at the doctor. I have to do a two-hour glucose tolerance test, which means I am beginning to fast. BLAH! I will never be as hungry as I will be tomorrow morning. Anyway, I need to get my blood drawn at 10:00 a.m., then I'll drink the orange drank and get blood drawn again at noon. I need to get a DEXA bone density scan somewhere in that time, too, so that the doctors can tell me I have osteopenia. Then, I have my pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at 12:30 p.m. and my actual appointment at 1:00 p.m. Yeaaaaaaaah, it's gonna be a pretty long day. While the optimist in me wants to say that it will go well, the pragmatist in me doesn't have very high hopes. Whatever happens, I will handle it with grace... and probably IV antibiotics.
Umm, what else? That's all. No money raised online for Drew's Crew today, but one of the crew members should have made his first push tonight, so I'm hoping I'll see an increase when I check the total in the morning. Unless you beat him to it....
Have a good night. I will report on judgment day tomorrow.

Lids o' Lead
My eyelids are super-heavy right now. I am TIRED! I'm going to go to bed EARLY tonight.
I went for my follow-up doctor's appointment on Friday and it went well. I had to wait for an hour before even being called back into a room. I don't understand why doctors' offices have to make you wait all of the time. I mean, I realize doctors are notorious for running behind schedule, but I'm not sure why they don't just plan appopriately. It seems like, no matter what, they're going to find a way to make you wait - even if you're the first patient of the day. Maybe they think it will make people more appreciative to see them, but I just get ridiculously frustrated and confrontational.
Saturday I went running in my grandmother's neighborhood. I also went and visited my other grandparents, making me 3-for-3 on seeing grandparents yesterday. FUN! Always an adventure... I also had some good bar food for dinner and went to an improv show. Good times!
Today I went to the Braves game. When my friend and I were in line to pick up our tickets at Will Call, a guy came up and asked if we wanted two tickets. I said we already had them, thinking he was a scalper, but then he was like, "Oh okay, I am just trying to get rid of these." Then, as he was walking away, they looked like the good tickets, so I had my friend get out of line and get the tickets. They were 6 rows behind home plate - AWESOME! At least I got to watch that 12-inning loss front-and-center! I also saw a player get hit in the head with the ball and fall to the ground for several minutes. WHAT A DAY! Now my record is 7-2, which is stupid. The Braves are nauseating right now.
I enjoyed El Toro for dinner, so Mexican food was a good end to the day. Tomorrow is Labor Day and then I return to the office Tuesday after 20 days of being out. WOW!!!!!!!!

Finally PICCless!
Yes, you guessed it. I got my PICC line removed today! The end result was/is awesome because I have two useful arms again, but the getting-there part was tricky. The psychotic nurse called at 9:00 a.m. to let me know she was coming at noon. Finally, at about 1:25 p.m., I was getting extremely impatient and called to see where she was and she claimed she was en route. Then, I hadn't heard from her at 2:15 p.m. and was about to blow a gasket. I called her and she said she was about to be there. Just for the sake of being confrontational, I told her I needed to leave to go somewhere 15 minutes AGO. Her response, "Oh, well I'll be there before that." I literally laughed on the phone, thinking, "I hope you're driving the time machine today, moron."
Then, after watching her highly unsuccessful journey into a parking spot, she got out of the car empty-handed. She walked in, started asking me all kinds of personal questions about how much I paid for my place, and then didn't really have anything prepared. She started looking for the stuff she needed and didn't have a suture removal kit for my stitches. So, thankfully, I happened to have one in my bathroom (rainy day activity) so she could perform the procedure for which she actually came. I swear she might have been smashed or something; there's no way she was at her maximum potential. I pray. It took all of my self-control not to be nasty to her.
Oh yeah, and she somehow inadvertently called my cell phone twice while performing the procedure. I didn't understand that one bit. Creeper.
Tonight we went out to eat Mexican for Kev-o's birthday. Deeelicious! I enjoooooooooooyed eating.
I listened to the Braves blow their lead as I drove home and proceeded to get increasingly frustrated through the remaining innings. I want to forget tonight.
