To answer my question, I'm upgrading the software on my phone and it is taking forever. I'm pretty annoyed because I started to doze off as the software was updating and, when I flinched, I hit a button and inadvertently canceled it. Now I'm having to repeat steps. Argh!
Well, it's been a pretty crazy week. Tuesday's CFF benefit show was amazing. I was so pleased with the turnout, but I was also so relieved for it to be over. There were probably about 80 or 90 people there, and we raised a pretty big chunk of change. AWESOME! I played Sit Stand Lean Oscar, Musical Styles, Emo Spot, and ABC Buzzer. I had so much fun and felt so supported!
Wednesday was eventful because I got promoted from the apprentice cast to the main stage cast. I have to say that I was pretty stinkin' shocked; I'm not sure that I've really digested the information yet, but Thursday night was my final apprentice hurrah! I played Emo Spot, Phones, Musical Styles, ABC Buzzer Beatnik Poetry, and Helping Hands Oscar. It was a really fun show! Tonight I performed, too, and I played Blind Scene, Meet the Experts, Conducted Rap, and Confessions. In the past, I've been naming games thinking that it would give me an idea of who casts me in what games, what my specialties appear to be, etc. Now, though, I can probably put the analyzing to rest. CRAZY!
I'm perturbed right now because this download is taking forever and I wish I hadn't jumped and hit a button. It's almost back to the halfway point, which is about where I was before the incident.
Gosh, I have nothing valuable to say because I am so tired that it's unreal. Come on, phone/computer. Get your acts together.
I'm just going to publish this post because I can't possibly pretend to focus right now.

Whether the weather is cold...
Greetings! It's Sunday! Normally I would be bummed because it would mean the weekend is coming to a close, but, if things go according to plan, it's going to be snowy and icy and we won't have to go to work tomorrow.
It has been a theatre-filled weekend. Yesterday I worked the box office for the kids' show. I performed last night and it was fun. I played Conducted Rap, Sounds Like a Song/Rap, Foreign-Dubbing (as a dubber), Sit Stand Lean Oscar, Buzzer Courtroom (Barbara as the bailiff), and Musical Styles. It was sold out!
Friday night I went out with some work friends (KQ and SS) and we stayed out entirely too late. I had a lot of fun, though. I messed up my sleeping routine, so that's another reason I'm voting for snow.
What else? I'm going to an apprentice celebration tonight. It should be fun!

Leavin' on a MARTA train
Well, I'm getting ready to venture out into the real world for my post-op appointment. I have made the decision to ride MARTA. IT'SMARTA. I was already considering this anyway since I don't feel like driving/parking/paying a fortune, but my decision was confirmed when I was visited last night by what I deem to be the start of a...
MIGRAINE.
It started much like it did the night before the migraine at the hospital. There were holes throughout my vision and it got to where I literally could not read anything. There were also flashes of light - almost like waves. I decided to go to sleep because it was disconcerting to look around when I couldn't see anything clearly. Even with my eyes closed, though, there was a ton of activity. This morning I woke up with a headache, so I took two Excedrin Migraines. I hope the medicine slapped that thing around.
Last night I went to the improv show! I figured that it was the best way to make my post-surgery/hospitalization public debut. My roommate and I went and had so much fun! It was an awesome show. It was the perfect mix of personalities, games, senses of humor, etc. Thank you to my fellow apprenti for making it more-than-worth the journey out of the house!
I don't have much else to say. I've exercised and written a lot this week, so I feel pretty productive. I'm looking forward to the weekend (even though this entire week has been like a weekend)!

Been tryin' to get down...
to the heart of the matter. Tonight's song is "The Heart of the Matter" by Don Henley. There's no secret meaning to that - it just got stuck in my head because of a random conversation earlier.
So, where did the week go? I don't even know.
Well, I do know that on Tuesday night I worked a graduation show at the theatre. I was on lights, which meant I was in charge of recording the DVD. Now, this was nerve racking considering this show was only happening because it was a redo of a show that did not record several weeks ago. However, the recording was successful! I had a really fun time working in the booth during the show, and then went out with a couple friends (JR, TO) for a few beers afterwards.
Wednesday one of my greatest fears came true... kinda. My friend (AM) called after she got off work - she lives in Virginia. We were chatting as I made my way down to Midtown to do a little work before rehearsal. Out of nowhere, she was in mid-sentence, and she said, "Whoa, whoa, whoaaaaa." Then, I just heard crashing, much like when you're in a restaurant and a server drops a tray. She was like, "I just got hit. I gotta go." Thankfully I could tell it wasn't too horrible because she sounded relatively calm. Either way, it scared the living daylights out of me. I've always had this unrealistic fear that I would hear something like that happen.
Last night I attended the 10-year anniversary party of the house where we work. I was supposed to be working at the registration table, but we had plenty of people, so I pretty much got to mingle and sip on cocktails. When my shift technically ended, I decided to rush down to Midtown to see my friend's (JR) first show as an apprentice. Man, it was so fun to be in the audience without any obligations! The show was awesome and I was thoroughly amused.
It's Homecoming, so I have to work pretty much all day tomorrow. I start at a movie screening at 10:30 a.m. and will basically work until midnight. I know it will be fun because it typically is, but MAN, that's a long day. I'm working at the Indigo Girls concert after the movie screening and then I head to the Class of 1990 reunion. I've got a big day ahead of me!
I have nothing to say about the Braves. NOTHING.
Well, I'm starting to get impatient waiting for sinus surgery. I have headaches pretty much all the time now. Two weeks to go!
I worked out today, so I am proud of myself. I haven't felt like it much lately with my head feeling the way it does, but I'm glad I went. I plan to exercise tomorrow morning before I head over to campus for my slew of events.

ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
I'm at one of those points again where the world just feels like it's spinning out of control. I literally feel like I blogged yesterday, but apparently it's been four days. In some respects that makes me glad because I know I'm out and about accomplishing things. In other ways, though, it's discouraging because I know I'm not stopping to smell the roses, which is kinda stressing me out.
Well, I will vomit if I talk about the Braves game on Wednesday. My record has dropped to 6 and 4. BLAH BLAH BLAH. The Braves and I are not on great terms right now, but I was happy for a win tonight.
My surgery is officially on the books for October 11. I'm not sure yet what the plan is as far as getting admitted, going on IV antibiotics, taking off from work, etc. Honestly I'm still processing the fact that it's scheduled, so I'll give it a few days to start finalizing those details. I feel a sense of relief, but I'm also overwhelmed.
I was in the show last night and it was fun! It was one of the new apprentices' (AF) first shows, so that was cool. He and I were in every scene together, too! I played Remote Control Styles, Musical Styles (80s love ballad, 90s boy band, R&B, rap), Repeat Scene Stereotypes (drag queens, drunk drug dealers, rednecks), and Oscar Musical Funeral (as Barbara Buchanan). Yeeehaw!
Today I met my siblings (and my brother's girlfriend) for lunch at Chick-fil-A. Then, for dinner, I went to Los Bravos with KW. I needed to get out and do something because today was kinda 'mleh.' I had a great time. We watched a documentary called Dear Zachary and it was really interesting. Although today had its ups and downs, I'm thankful to be ending on an 'up.'
Sleeping sounds so awesome right now! I am really excited to sleep and feel new in the morning!

Ooooh - oh - oooooooh!
That title is me trying to articulate the sound of the tomahawk chop. I went to the Braves game yesterday afternoon, and BOY, was it an exciting one! The Braves were down 3-2 to start the ninth, and came back to win the thing. Jason Heyward came up with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth. He hit a game-winning single, and it was so cute. They huddled on the field and it made me want to cry. Then he got pied in the face! I'm just excited because my record is 1-0 right now. The Braves win 100 percent of the games I attend!
Well, my boss went into labor. I don't know for sure whether or not she's had the baby or what not, but she was in early labor last night. I am excited to see pictures, but I'm really going to miss her when she's gone.
Today the apprentices went bowling instead of rehearsing. Since the Improv Studies Program has a show this Thursday, we got the night free from apprentice rehearsal. Going bowling was a nice change of pace. It was fun to get to bond a bit in a non-improv atmosphere. Anytime we've gone out in public together, I always wonder if people are curious as to how we are friends. It's just an interesting combination of people. I bowled a 78 on the first game and was at 37 on the second game (with two frames left) when we ran out of time. I had a good time. Bowling is fun! I did get one strike, so that was nice!
Guess what! Today I scheduled my second study screening for this Thursday. They can only re-screen once, so I've got to do awesome on Thursday in order to be eligible. If I do as well as I did at the doctor last week, I should hopefully be good to go - at least lung-wise. I really, really hope that we can get this under way. I haven't gotten too excited about it in the last several weeks because I was trying to focus on the health issues of the present, but I hope everything goes well and I get approved within the next couple of weeks! Send the positive energy this way. I'll have to take half of a day off of work to participate, but hopefully it will be worth all of the positive benefits of the drug (if I don't get the placebo!).
Umm, that's about it. Drew's Crew is at $10,428. I am only $22 shy of $5,000 on my personal page. Yeeehaw! Thank you all!

Snoozer
At what point does a nap no longer classify as a nap? Does it depend on what time it starts or its duration? Either way, I basically slept from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. this afternoon, with the exception of one or two little stints of waking up for 30 minutes. I mean, that's incredible. I'm afraid it could be difficult to sleep tonight, which is why I'm going to be quick-like. Gotta keep this napping momentum going!
Today I got up and hit the gym first thing. I experienced the worst cast of gym ADD that I've ever had. I would get on one machine for a few minutes, feel like changing to something else, then repeat that again. All in all, I did a little over 30 minutes of stuff, but it was really hard to stay focused. I have no idea why!
Then, I got picked up to go eat an early lunch at El Azteca (Peachtree). I was graced by my two female apprenti, which was fun. We chit-chatted and had a few margaritas before heading to WWIT for the monthly teen performance. It was a lot of fun to watch! I was also excited because I knew that a fellow CFer was in the show (small world, I know), so I got to talk to his mom. CFers just have this inherent bond.
That reminds me that I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I'm not exactly worried about it, but I'm definitely feeling some hesitance. I just don't know if it will go well. I haven't felt GREAT in a while.
Speaking of not feeling great, the Braves are kinda sucking. I mean, they could be doing worse, but they have 3 wins and 3 losses right now. I'm kinda thankful that I fell asleep for most of today's game. I started off with a feeling that this season was gonna be different, and it's starting to dwindle. COME ON!
Well, there's more I could drone on about, but I really didn't have a productive weekend. It was just kinda there. I tried to write and had no success. I just kind of piddled around, but I guess I'm entitled to that considering how busy I've been lately.
I'm hoping for a good week of fundraising. Drew's Crew is at $8592. I hope we can pick up some momentum this week and hit maybe $11 or $12K. We'll hit the one-month-out mark on Wednesday, so we've gotta get it going!

Jaaaaaaaaaava chip
Sunday was a success... First, I walked 3 miles on the treadmill while reading. Then, some apprentices met for Korean food and then we stopped by Baskin Robbins to enjoy some good old-fashioned dessert. When I got back from that gathering, my fraaaaaaand came over to help film more of my fundraising video. This time we got video of me doing mainly non-treatmenty things, like brushing my teeth, getting in my car, etc. We also went over to the fitness center and got video of me running on the treadmill. I ran about a mile in the time that I was being filmed and then realized afterwards: 'Hey, I just ran on the treadmill and it didn't hurt my SC joint once.' So, I was really excited! As far as the video goes, I can't wait to see how it comes along. I'm ready to start fundraising BIG-TIME! (Then we ate Mexican food!)
Monday I got up for work and was just lagging big-time. I dont know what's gotten into me, but I have just been feeling so run-down. I started feeling progressively worse on Sunday and, knowing that I'd been outside a decent bit, I decided to look up the pollen counts. Believe it or not, they were high, so I attributed some of the sneezing and itchiness to that. Monday I felt so weak. Things that are usually effortless required significant determination. So, I was a little concerned considering my show on Thursday, which I've been looking forward to for what feels like FOREVER!
Rehearsal on Monday night went well, but when I got up this morning, I just couldn't go to work. I ended up working from home in bed all day. I didn't feel nearly as weak as the day progressed. It was nice to get to be immobile and minimize the stress and distraction. By the end of the work day, I was feeling pretty good and pretty confident that maybe I wasn't catching anything after all. So, I went up to the fitness center to try to destroy anything that could be plaguing me. Much to my surprise, I ran three miles and walked one. I stopped at each mile point and got some water because I was feeling dehydrated, but I was pretty pleased. Again, no pain in the SC joint! Somebody might be unstoppable!
This evening I did my vest for a little while. I also finished up the letters that I was writing for the CFF. I hope they are on-target. I was pretty pleased with them and rewarded myself with a little bowl of java chip ice cream. I was holding that over my head as a bribe, knowing that it would motivate me to seal the deal on the letters. I want projects like that to be so unbelievably phenomenal that I tend to drag them longer than I should... thinking I'll have a revelation, etc.
Anyway, today was a big success. Tomorrow's Wednesday and then Thursday? It's showtime!!!!

Kick it to the curb
So, Thursday was an eventful day; that Cortisone injection made it more painful than I imagined. I took some Aleve in the morning, hoping that the soreness would wear off as the day continued. However, I was horribly wrong. By 2:00 p.m. when the pain wasn't subsiding any, I decided to take half of a Vicodin. I'll tell you that definitely did a trick or two. I was at least able to relax a bit, so my shoulder stopped twitching and my neck loosened up a bit.
I met a friend at El Azteca before Thursday night's show. Dinner got started a little late considering the zebra running around on the Downtown Connector, which held up traffic quite a bit (it's no wonder Atlanta was just ranked third in the worst traffic among metro areas). Anyway, we had to move quickly, but we got in some good catching-up before we headed to the improv show. It was super-fun being spectators together, and the show was quite amusing!
I was relieved to work at home Friday so that I didn't have to sit up in a chair and/or walk around as much. Thankfully, I woke up Friday feeling remarkably less sore, but it was still nice to get to work from bed. I got a lot accomplished before I headed downtown to meet a friend at Willy's. We were both on the volunteer schedule, so we got to visit over dinner before we went to fulfill our duties. I was originally slated as the camera girl with her doing suggestions, but we flipped responsibilities since I knew my SC joint wasn't going to be happy about having to work the camera.
Today has been a really lazy day. I'm not sure if I'm just exhausted or if I'm still kind of fighting something, but I haven't felt up to much today. I slept in pretty late, which was nice since it's been a pretty jam-packed week. My mom ended up heading this way and we went to the Goodwill to do a little character-outfit shopping. I got a few good things to solidify some characters. Then we swung by El Toro (third Mexican reference in this post - I also forgot to say I had Willy's for lunch Thursday) and ate a late lunch.
This evening I haven't accomplished much. I dozed off for over an hour. I tried cleaning up a bit, too, but that didn't work out quite as planned. I got a bath, which was nice, but honestly I have no idea where the night has gone. All I know is that I'm feeling pretty drained.
Tomorrow I think some of the apprentice actors are meeting for lunch. Then, in the afternoon, a friend and I will be doing some filming for my CF video. I'm pretty excited to see the outcome of this; it's gonna be cooooool!

Good night, Monday
I am tired right now, but I figured I'd write in my delirium.
Improv was a lot of fun tonight. I actually felt 'on' for the first time in what seems like forever, although it doesn't help that I had a break with the holidays and what not. It's probably a good thing I'm feeling 'on' this week because I'm in the show on Thursday night. My first show as an apprentice....Woohoo! It's giving me something to look forward to in this week back to reality. I hope some people can come see my debut!
Tomorrow night I get to watch Georgia Tech play in the Orange Bowl from the comfort of my own home. I hope they win. I really want to wear my Georgia Tech hoodie to work tomorrow, but I don't know if I will since it's Tuesday, which means it's staff meeting day. If it weren't Tuesday, there's a 100 percent chance I would wear it, but it's the one day of the week that everyone sees me. Sooooo, perhaps I'll have to put it on at the end of the workday. Frankly I think people in behind-the-scenes positions (like myself) should be able to wear absolutely anything to work as long as it isn't vulgar. Wearing sweats to work would boost my morale.
Today I had Willy's, which was a good first lunch hour of 2010. Tomorrow I'm supposed to meet a friend who's in town for lunch. She's not in town for lunch, but I mean, I'm supposed to meet her for lunch. I hope it works out, even if we eat at an odd hour for the sake of coordinating our schedules.
I did the elliptical today at work. While I exercised, I read several pages of my book (the one written be me) and made notes on them for organizational purposes. I am reworking the silly out of that thing because the revelation I recently had changes so much about it...including the title. Am I being vague? Are you intrigued? Are you going to read it when it comes out?
It's definitely time to sleep. While it seems to be all that folks can talk about right now, it is extremely cold outside. It truly doesn't get much colder than this in Atlanta. Rumors are that it might snow on Thursday, but I'll believe it when I see it. I've never been a big snow person, but if it's going to be this cold, I prefer it yield some kind of result that couldn't happen otherwise. It makes shivering feel more worthwhile.
