Welcome to Sunday!
My roommate just walked in with groceries and it reminded me that I still want a donut. I actually had a dream last night that I was eating a white powdered donut at my grandmother's house (although it wasn't her actual house). It's sad that I've let this become such an issue.
I'm about to be angry at the Braves. I went to the home opener on Friday night and the Braves won. The rest of the weekend hasn't been quite as pleasant for them. It ain't over 'til it's over, though, and they have two more at-bats today. COME ON, BOYS!
What else? Well, tomorrow is back-to-work day. I was on vacation last Monday through Wednesday, and I telecommuted on Thursday and Friday of last week. I wish I could say I wasn't going to be in a billion meetings this week, but I'd be lying if I said that. Also, my boss's last day was last Monday (SURPRISE VACATION PHONE CALL!), so things are going to be a little insane tomorrow.
One at-bat left. Don't get me started.
The Phillies just got a triple. Don't get me started.
The Phillies just scored a run. I have started.
I worked a crew shift at the theatre last night. I enjoyed the shows and devoured a piece of cake, so I'd deem the night a success.
Well, it's time to write some thank you emails to the latest Drew's Crew supporters. My fundraising team has raised $14,701 online. We're in the mid-campaign slump, so I'm expecting us to pick up the pace in the next couple of weeks. Go team!
Okay. I'm gonna post this before the Braves' last at-bat.
Have a swell Monday!

Whether the weather is cold...
Greetings! It's Sunday! Normally I would be bummed because it would mean the weekend is coming to a close, but, if things go according to plan, it's going to be snowy and icy and we won't have to go to work tomorrow.
It has been a theatre-filled weekend. Yesterday I worked the box office for the kids' show. I performed last night and it was fun. I played Conducted Rap, Sounds Like a Song/Rap, Foreign-Dubbing (as a dubber), Sit Stand Lean Oscar, Buzzer Courtroom (Barbara as the bailiff), and Musical Styles. It was sold out!
Friday night I went out with some work friends (KQ and SS) and we stayed out entirely too late. I had a lot of fun, though. I messed up my sleeping routine, so that's another reason I'm voting for snow.
What else? I'm going to an apprentice celebration tonight. It should be fun!

There's no place like home
First things first - I thought about backdating this post, but I didn't. Either way, this is solely about my Saturday and a teensy bit about my Sunday.
Well, homecoming weekend was a BLAST! Even though I sometimes complain about the things I have to sacrifice to work on the weekends, commencement and homecoming are always a lot of fun.
On Saturday morning, I worked at a movie screening of a film produced by an alumnus from the Class of 1990. Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of the film, but it seemed like it was a big hit. I also got to chat with the filmmaker, Mark Goffman. I need to send him a follow-up email for something work-related. Anyway, that was pretty awesome. I'm bummed I didn't get to see the movie, but it's called Dumbstruck, so remember that you heard it here first.
Then I walked all over creation running errands for people. Next up: working the Indigo Girls concert. I was at the wristband tent, so I pretty much awkwardly looked at IDs. Thankfully I don't think anyone tried to pull a fast one on me. If they did, congratulations. I got to sip on a few beers while I worked, so of course that made the sweltering heat more bearable. My biggest accomplishment of the afternoon was helping a lost child reunite with her parents. She was a tiny little thing - probably about two years old. She said her name was "Maggie" between sobs. She said her last name was "Care Bear." I think she was lying to me, but we found her parents regardless.
It was then time for the PARTAAAAAY! I worked with SG at the Class of 1990 reunion. Talk about some party animals! By the time all was said and done, they had close to 200 people in attendance, which was LOADS more than (almost all of) the other reunions. Those folks liked to drink! Even though they were a rowdy bunch, I wouldn't have had it any other way. I had a ton of fun and was thoroughly amused throughout the entire night! I didn't get home until close to 1:00 a.m., but I enjoyed every minute of it...except walking to the car on tired feet.
Sunday was pretty much a day of relaxation - a day of frustration with the Braves and jubilation with the Falcons. It was rainy, too, which made it much easier to lay around being useless. Anyway, it was the perfect end to the weekend.

Off on the wrong foot
Happy Sunday!
Well, let us see.... Yesterday wasn't the most productive day of my life. I took about three naps which totaled to probably four hours of resting. I guess I needed that. Despite my naps, I did a few things of substance...ish.
I did end up going to the library, which was fun. I checked out five books. Two of the books are nonfiction and are about creativity, and the other three are fictional. I started one of them yesterday evening and am almost halfway done. What can I say?! Reading is fun!
I stopped by my grandmother's house and saw my uncle and mom for a bit.
Last night I made a last-minute decision to go out to dinner with a friend (BA). We went to Taco Mac and had a blast. We had some nachos and wings and I was just in hog heaven! Then we went to Coldstone to grab some ice cream before heading home. Although I have gotten sorbet with gummy bears every trip for several years, I switched it up last night. I got coffee ice cream with Reese's peanut butter cups. It was pretty delicious. We were literally laughing the entire time! Man, I laugh when I think about watching the ice cream cone hit the pavement. Sorry!
I practically have no voice today. It's kind of interesting.

Jaaaaaaaaaava chip
Sunday was a success... First, I walked 3 miles on the treadmill while reading. Then, some apprentices met for Korean food and then we stopped by Baskin Robbins to enjoy some good old-fashioned dessert. When I got back from that gathering, my fraaaaaaand came over to help film more of my fundraising video. This time we got video of me doing mainly non-treatmenty things, like brushing my teeth, getting in my car, etc. We also went over to the fitness center and got video of me running on the treadmill. I ran about a mile in the time that I was being filmed and then realized afterwards: 'Hey, I just ran on the treadmill and it didn't hurt my SC joint once.' So, I was really excited! As far as the video goes, I can't wait to see how it comes along. I'm ready to start fundraising BIG-TIME! (Then we ate Mexican food!)
Monday I got up for work and was just lagging big-time. I dont know what's gotten into me, but I have just been feeling so run-down. I started feeling progressively worse on Sunday and, knowing that I'd been outside a decent bit, I decided to look up the pollen counts. Believe it or not, they were high, so I attributed some of the sneezing and itchiness to that. Monday I felt so weak. Things that are usually effortless required significant determination. So, I was a little concerned considering my show on Thursday, which I've been looking forward to for what feels like FOREVER!
Rehearsal on Monday night went well, but when I got up this morning, I just couldn't go to work. I ended up working from home in bed all day. I didn't feel nearly as weak as the day progressed. It was nice to get to be immobile and minimize the stress and distraction. By the end of the work day, I was feeling pretty good and pretty confident that maybe I wasn't catching anything after all. So, I went up to the fitness center to try to destroy anything that could be plaguing me. Much to my surprise, I ran three miles and walked one. I stopped at each mile point and got some water because I was feeling dehydrated, but I was pretty pleased. Again, no pain in the SC joint! Somebody might be unstoppable!
This evening I did my vest for a little while. I also finished up the letters that I was writing for the CFF. I hope they are on-target. I was pretty pleased with them and rewarded myself with a little bowl of java chip ice cream. I was holding that over my head as a bribe, knowing that it would motivate me to seal the deal on the letters. I want projects like that to be so unbelievably phenomenal that I tend to drag them longer than I should... thinking I'll have a revelation, etc.
Anyway, today was a big success. Tomorrow's Wednesday and then Thursday? It's showtime!!!!

Stop the clock
The last few days are such a blur to me.
Sunday was a pretty lazy and relaxing day, but I can't say the same for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Monday I struggled through the day for some reason, feeling an overall exhaustion. I went straight from work to my final improv practice, which was fun. We did a faux show to prepare for last night's performance. There was not a single thing I did in the faux show that I did in the real show last night, but hey. You live and you learn! I guess I was just getting those out of my system.
Tuesday was just a loooooooong day. I got up and went to work like usual, and had to be at the theatre at 6:00 p.m. When I got to the theatre, we went through the line-up. That's when I found out that I'd be in two games I'd never played before and in two singing games. Surprisingly, I was too tired to realize what was happening to want to gouge my eyeballs out. In fact, I was somewhat anxiously excited to see what would happen. I thought the show went pretty well. I keep having flashbacks to random things I said or did and I'm afraid to watch the DVD next week. Oh well! It was a lot of fun and feels so much more natural than it did 7 months ago.
Today I finally feel the worst I have in several weeks. I know I haven't felt up-to-par in a few weeks, but today I can officially say I feel a little lousy. I am coughing, my throat is starting to hurt, etc. Then again, that seems to be the norm these days; a lot of people seem to be a little ill. Speaking of sick, I think I am getting the H1N1 vaccine tomorrow. I am in the high-risk group and can get it for free at work. I'm a little skeptical for no good reason, so we'll see what I decide.
I came home from work and napped for almost 5 hours. Now I'm getting ready to go back to sleep. Tomorrow I am giving a speech at a CF Foundation event. I haven't made an outline yet, but an outline seems trivial after I had to rap in front of an audience last night. An outline seems like a good project for...tomorrow.
Time to go back to bed. Like a log.
