Troubled waters

What a week. WHAT. A. WEEK. It's been a while since I've had a week as eventful as this week. Aaaaand I don't exactly mean that in a good way.

Highlights include:
-Dealing with the cops Sunday morning due to some "malicious mischief"
-Losing my phone and wallet on Tuesday night
-Ruining my hardwood floors Thursday/Friday courtesy of my water heater losing its mind

My phone ended up being in my roommate's coworker's car, so it only took about 12 hours to track that down. My wallet ended up being in the grass at the amphitheater after the Jimmy Buffett concert. It took me way longer than it should have to realize my wallet was missing, but an amphitheater employee called me and I went to retrieve it. Everything looks to be intact, with the exception of someone stealing my cash. Oh well, mo' money, mo' problems.

That's the perfect segue into the fact that I spent almost $800 yesterday on home repairs. I had to get a new water heater and the accessories required to install that, so that totaled almost $300. My mom gave me a card for $25 off a purchase of $250+, so I went and got that cost adjusted today. I also had to pay the $500 deductible for the water mitigation and water damage.

Right now my living room is missing about one-third of its hardwood floor and probably six square feet of sheet rock. My utility closet is missing all of its floor and probably 12 square feet of sheet rock. And, finally, my kitchen is missing the hardwood floor bordering two of the walls. The fans and dehumidifiers are so loud that I'm starting to get a headache. However, they're like a whisper compared to that jackhammer that was tearing up the floor today. RIP you jerk of a water heater.

Let's try to move on to more positive things... I ate Yogli Mogli with my mom today! I worked out yesterday and today, which majorly helped in the destressing department. I also got a check in the mail from my mortgage company, so that was a welcomed surprise in the aftermath of Spendfest Friday. Hooray!

I can't believe it's a holiday weekend. I missed improv rehearsal on Wednesday because I felt like I was getting sick, although I'm pretty sure it was stress bogging me down. In retrospect, it's a major positive that I'm not performing this weekend (except for a festival tomorrow) because it would have been so hectic trying to manage that with all of the home repairs. The weekend has felt insane enough without any obligations. It's pretty ironic because, on Thursday before the water incident, I was running my mouth about how I hadn't had such a lengthy stint without an obligation in as long as I can remember. Enter: water.

Well, I'm gonna try to enjoy the rest of my Saturday night. I think it's about time to take some headache medicine. The Braves are in extra innings right now, and I really think I need to give them some attention.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Get a life!

Oohhhhhhhh MAN! I just got home from performing not too long ago. It was a really small crowd (Memorial Day), but it was fun. I had a good time! I played Buzzer Debate (Barbara Buchanan), Sounds Like a Song/Rap, Remote Control, Script in Hand (off book), and Musical Styles. The show was a lot of fun. I was out in the cafe afterwards and this dude came up and made some crack about how I should get singing lessons. He should be glad it took me a second to process what he said or I would have made a sassy remark back to him. I could name about 30 or 58 comebacks I've already thought of, but I'll keep them to myself. He was laughing when he said it so I think he was being Mr. I-Think-I-Need-To-Be-Funny-Because-I'm-At-A-Comedy-Theater and didn't mean any ill-will. Either way, he was dressed like a farmer.

I went to the gym for a hot second this morning. I should have done something more vigorous, but whatever. I was tired. I'll make up for it tomorrow.

Well, I almost got nailed by a cop car tonight, so that was exhilarating. Some cops were all pulled over with their lights on stopping these two guys walking and carrying what looked to be liquor store bags. One cop passed by the incident and then decided to make a right turn from the inside lane when I was in the far right lane. I literally had to slam on the brakes and barely missed him. My left hand reached up to honk out of instinct, but (like my car) my hand came to a screeching halt because I can't imagine a cop enjoying being honked at in front of all of his friends. My heart was pounding the rest of the way home because it was so close.

I had Willy's steak nachos with a friend today. Oh my heavens.

I can't tell yet who's going to with the bathing suit race - me or Victoria's Secret. They haven't shipped yet, so I'm still on the fence about whether or not I'll have them in time for the trip. This is called living life on the edge, children!

What else? I went to a three-hour training session today and about gouged my eyeballs out. The content itself wasn't horrendous, but sometimes things click too quickly for me to stay focused.

Big weekend ahead. I'm so excited for the holiday weekend. I hope we get out of work early tomorrow. I'll be telecommuting anyway, but it would be nice to have that surprise.

Hand model

So, I was off of work yesterday for the first of three consecutive three-day weekends. Man, I am loving this weekend! I can't believe there is still one entire day left in the weekend.

Anyways, I was sitting at the pool yesterday when I got a call from an unknown number. Since I'm in such high-demand and have phone calls coming in left and right (ha!!!!!), I didn't answer it. Well, when I listened to the message, it was a casting agent calling to see if I could be a hand-double for Katherine Heigl in the movie Five Killers. Unfortunately, yet fortunately, when I spoke to the lady on the telephone, she realized about the stars, so that was a no-go. While I won't get to do it after all, I definitely got a good laugh out of it.

Tomorrow I am going to the Braves game; the Red Sox are in town. The Braves have lost the previous two games in the series, so I have a pretty good feeling about tomorrow. While I've only been to three games this season, I am glad to have a perfect record so far and I plan to continue it tomorrow. I also have tickets to the Phillies on Tuesday and Thursday. Well, I don't technically have Thursday's tickets yet, but I plan to go. I am going to try not to start any fist fights. :o)

Anyways, today has been the laziest day and it has been everything I hoped it would be. I actually got up early despite staying out until after 3:00 a.m. I hit up the gym, then came home and proceeded to be lazy. I read a lot and took several naps. Finally, around 6:45 p.m., I decided I better run a few errands, knowing that tomorrow will be hectic. Today has seemed sooooo long and I've loved every minute of it!
