This is going to be very brief.
I had a dream last night that my mom and I were swimming in a river of chocolate. Up ahead, my friend KQ was with a guy named Drew that I'd never seen before. My mom and I were trying to swim over to them.
Then, I noticed that a gigantic donut (the size of a ferris wheel) was falling out of the sky. It, too, was chocolate, but was covered in white powder. KQ told me to let the donut fall on me and it would cover me in powder. Then, as the donut landed on me, I woke up and was in the midst of an asthma attack (in real life).
I realized that, every couple of months, I wake up having an asthma attack that fits into my dream. I remember one when I was choking on Tootsie rolls, and another when I was choking on gummy bears. I realize that I sound like an absolute headcase right now, especially since the examples I remember are about candy. Anyway, I've always wondered if the dream's panic-laced storyline causes the attack, or if the attack incorporates itself into my dream before actually waking me.
It's hard to imagine that anyone else would have a similar story, but oh well. I felt like sharing! Judge your little heart out.
Oh, and the craziest part was that, as I was calming down from the attack, I heard my phone go off. I had literally just received an email warning me about the allergy forecast for today. It's merely coincidence, but it reminded me that allergy season is on the way. WONDERFUL!

Coincidence
Sometimes I read entirely too much into coincidences. I have no idea why I even felt the need to say that because I'm not going to explain what I mean by that. Vague, I know. Moving right along...
A friend treated me to a nice night out on the town, and we hadn't hung out in a while, so I was glad to spend time with her! First we went out to eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Given the nastiness of the weather today, I figured it would be nice to escape to the tropics, despite watching the rain through the window. We enjoyed catching up and talking about life, which is always a crowd-pleaser in my book. Then we headed to Cafe Intermezzo where we grabbed some hot chocolate and continued our discussion! I also opened a sweet gift from her - a HUGE bag of Haribo gummy bears AND a gift card to the movies. I need to start getting up-to-speed with current movies so that I can use it wisely! Anyway, I considered tonight my birthday celebration for the most part, and it was time well-spent; it got me thinking.
I got some donations today! I am really appreciative, and the team is sitting at $12,100. I'm hoping to bring home some bacon on my birthday, so I've got high hopes for that! Let's celebrate!
Making that text a hyperlink made me think about the fact that I'm getting kind of good at HTML stuff. I dabble in it at work and have been using it some here and there for different fundraising things, and I actually like it. Basically it's like a brainteaser of sorts, so maybe I should look into learning more... DORK!
I haven't done too much that's noteworthy today... or yesterday. I got enrolled in ANOTHER study that I'll do on Thursday, so I have to start keeping a food journal tomorrow. I hope I don't forget. I don't have a printer, so I'm going to keep track in a gangsterfied way until I can get it printed.
Umm, that's about it. I am feeling motivated in many senses of the word!

Invisible
Today was a much better day, fans!! Thank you all for the support and the encouragement; I think I am on the right track to feeling better. I was feeling very sore today, but didn't have even half of the lung pain or breathing difficulty today. Woohooo! I can't tell you how relieved I am to have had a day where I felt better than worse. Forward progress is GREAT!
Speaking of progress, Drew's Crew is only $60 shy of $6K online right now, so that makes me smile! I know that we have at least $500 in checks, too, so we are probably 1/3 of the way to my big ol' goal. I got one donation and two new walkers today, so I'm excited about all of that.
My boss suggested that I stay home from work tomorrow if it will help me get back where I need to be, and I haven't yet decided whether or not to take her up on that offer. I'd kind of like to be up and about for the first day this week, buuuut my body is also radiating from the soreness right now, so we'll see how I sleep tonight. I think I remember exactly how I had the three pillows situated last night in order to minimize the pain as much as possible. Geez, I sound pitiful!
Today I had some yogurt at a place called Yogli Mogli. I got strawberry and raspberry yogurt topped with gummy bears, strawberries, kiwi, mango and pineapple. It was pretty fun, but they really ought to invest in some better quality gummy bears. For me, Drew Dotson, to throw out a gummy bear, something is horrendously wrong. The green gummy bears were absolutely awful. It got me thinking about how great Haribo gummy bears are. I learned the other day that the green Haribo bears are actually strawberry-flavored. All gummy bear companies should look into doing something like that because green is notoriously bad when it comes to candy.
Well, I guess I better get ready for bed. I mean, I've been in bed for much of the day, but I guess I better proceed as though I'll be sleeping soon. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me whether I go to work or not - surviving an improv show when I didn't think my body would survive the week.
I am glad you are reading this.

Barracuda
Well, I am comfortably sitting in bed, getting ready to hit the hay. I am extreeeeemely tired tonight. It's been a long day and I just got home from my IMPROV show a little while ago. Woohoo!
Tonight was a lot of fun! I was in Buzzer, Repeat Scene Styles, Emo Interview and Oscar Musical. Again, that's mainly for my jogs down the improv memory lane - not so much so anybody else will understand what those things mean. I felt pretty good about every single scene, so that's a refreshing feeling to have! I had several of my wonderful friends and family members there supporting me despite the rain, so that was awesome. Plus, it was a friend's first apprentified show and she was stellar - especially at singing games. Her excellence overcompensates for my shouting to music!
I enjoyed steak nachos at Willy's today, per my pre-show tradition. A late-ish lunch of steak nachos is the perfect thing to get me geared up for improv. I had part of a Monster energy drink before the show and was feeling super hyper. It was a good kick to get me going! Throw in a few gummy bears and I am good to go!
Well, I'm pretty relieved because I don't have a whole lot on the agenda for the weekend. I am guessing I'll lay low tomorrow. Then Saturday I have a hair appointment and lunch with a friend. Otherwise I don't plan on doing much. I'm pretty sure I work at the theatre every weekend for the rest of the month, so I'll savor this weekend while I have it. I haven't quite decided what to do hairwise. As usual, I have been extremely satisfied with my hair ever since I made the appointment. Why does it always work this way?!
Anyway, I'm a sleepy one and have a lot to accomplish work-wise tomorrow. I'll be working from home, but I will be in. the. zone.
Cheers to a good week!

Bagel roll
Today I had a bagel roll for lunch at Thaicoon. It was absolutely incredible. I could eat again. In fact, I got some jelly beans and gummy bears at Kroger after lunch in order to help sugar me through the day. I don't think it's going to work.
Well, I had my improv show last night, and I think it went pretty well. I'm pretty sure I had 29 friends come, so that was awesome. It was like my own cheering section, so I really appreciated that. The show was pretty fun! There were some hiccups here and there, but some highlights as well. My condescending, shallow character named Margaret McBlarney said a lot of offensive things, so I deemed that successful. I thought people were more energized about the last show, but it was still a great time!
Our dean of alumni died on Sunday, so we are having a reception at work today. He lived to be an incredible 97 years old, and it was amazing to see a 97-year-old walking down the halls of this building, just putting in another day's work. I bet the reception is going to be absolutely gigantic. I'll need to put on my game face and play hostess all afternoon, but it will be interesting to attend the reception. He seemed absolutely remarkable considering his dedication and I have heard nothing but positive things about him every day I've been here.
I just got asked to speak at a CF Foundation event on November 17, so I'm excited about that. I feel kind of like a mini-celebrity these last several weeks. It's pretty enjoyable, if I do say so myself. Speaking of being a mini-celebrity, I have promised myself I will finish writing my book by the end of the year. I think it's very feasible, as I'm already very far along. Revising it will be the hardest part, but at least it will be written!
World Series game 6 tonight. I'm really pulling for the Yankees here. I never thought there would be a day in my life that those words would escape my fingertips, but it just happened. The Phillies would be useless if they couldn't hit home runs, and I truly don't need to see them win another championship. They hardly even deserved to be the division winners. Yeah, I'm bitter and most of those remarks are out of spite, but I'm still rooting for the Yankees. I'm more so rooting against the Phillies, but I guess that consequently categorizes me as a Yankees fan. For tonight.
Time to get prepared for socializing.

Earthquake
So, I was just sitting here in bed and felt like I was shaking. I thought my legs were twitching, but it seemed like I was tremoring all over. Then, I looked at a glass of water sitting by my bed and it was sloshing. I honestly have no clue what's going on, but it's kind of freaky. It seems to have stopped, but it was intermittently shaking for several minutes. I texted my sister to see if her house is shaking since she's so nearby. She hasn't responded; hopefully her house hasn't collapsed already in the quake.
I don't think all of the coffee in the world could have helped me make it through the work day. After being completely and utterly lazy for the last three weeks, returning to work was an extreme challenge. Thankfully one of my coworkers brought me a bag of gummy bears, so that was the only lifeline I had going for me today.
THE BRAVES ARE WINNING. Sorry, I needed to get that out there before they sabatoge themselves.
Tomorrow is 09.09.09. I'm not sure why that kind of excites me - I guess because I'm a dork.
I didn't exercise today, which is kind of lame, but I was just so exhausted by the time I got home from work. Plus, I couldn't sleep last night - I was trying to get to sleep early like it was the first day of school or something, so of course I was just tossing and turning. I definitely plan to exercise tomorrow because I need to maintain this habit from the get-go.
Well, I'm sure tomorrow will be an improvement; returning from any vacation tends to be tough.
I have seriously taken two hours to finish this. That's why it's all over the place. I am just writing one thought at a time and then trying to resume 15 minutes later.... GOOD NIGHT!

Exhausted
Man, it's been a little while since I've written, huh? I guess almost two weeks. It seems like I've been really busy, but I can't even think of exciting stuff to say I did.
I went and got ice cream at Coldstone three times this week. I got berry yogurt with gummy bears twice and watermelon sorbet with gummy bears once. That watermelon sorbet was so good that it makes me salivate when I imagine it.... I wish I was drinking some milk right now, but I'm too lazy to go downstairs and get any.
My sternoclavicular joint is causing problems. Yesterday and today it felt like it did a day or two after I injured it, which sucks because it's been about eight weeks. I really hope that some miracle happens before I go back and see the doctor on May 12. I read online about options to fix it if it's not healing on its own. Let's just say that none of them seemed really exciting.
I can't believe it's May already. Last night was really the first night since the allergy escapade that I slept through the entire night without waking up coughing..... Knock on wood. I am hoping for another good night tonight. I just took an Advil PM because I have an excruciating headache. Time to go to sleep! I can't wait!
