The days fly by lately. I can hardly believe I worked from home all day because I wonder where all the time went. I wrote a few donor profiles for some solicitations, worked on some mass emails for send, etc. It's just a mystery to me lately. I feel like I'm making significant progress, yet there are hardly any signs that I'm moving things forward (in many areas of my life). This is precisely why I need to be in paradise for two full weeks. Soon. Enough.
Speaking of, I took a gamble today. Since I had such online bathing suit success and really hadn't gotten new ones in years (still wearing some from six years ago), I went ahead and splurged today. My definition of 'splurged' is funny because it's different than 95 percent of society's, but I bought two more that were on clearance (AKA averaging $10 per suit piece, which is far from breaking the bank). The risky part is that, because I like to save money, I didn't choose for any expedited shipping. The estimated arrival date was June 7, which will be my second day in the Dominican Republic. I received the last bathing suit several days before the expected arrival date, so I'm praying the same will happen. I hope the holiday doesn't throw things. I am trying to use my subconscious to receive an email saying the items have shipped. This ease of online shopping is scary. I see how people become shopaholics.
I wish I could give you a visual update on my arm bruise, but I don't have that technology (notice the cheapskate theme tonight?). It's getting to the green stage of bruising. I think it should be starting to disappear at any point. I really have no updates on the vanilla front. I still am trying to be optimistic and tell myself I'm taking the real drug, but I haven't noticed many real physical symptoms. The physical symptoms I had the other day don't appear to be drug-related, so that's good (although a little bad!). I just wonder how long it might take to notice true positive results from the drug in the first place...
Braves game Friday night. Baller! I know I don't mention them much anymore because I'm having a hard time following them, but they'll always be in my heart. Go Braves!
Have you noticed I don't mention Mexican food with the same fervor I did? There are some major things awry in my life!
Perhaps I'll come up with my updated life plan as I go to sleep tonight. PEACE!

Today was a much better day, fans!! Thank you all for the support and the encouragement; I think I am on the right track to feeling better. I was feeling very sore today, but didn't have even half of the lung pain or breathing difficulty today. Woohooo! I can't tell you how relieved I am to have had a day where I felt better than worse. Forward progress is GREAT!
Speaking of progress, Drew's Crew is only $60 shy of $6K online right now, so that makes me smile! I know that we have at least $500 in checks, too, so we are probably 1/3 of the way to my big ol' goal. I got one donation and two new walkers today, so I'm excited about all of that.
My boss suggested that I stay home from work tomorrow if it will help me get back where I need to be, and I haven't yet decided whether or not to take her up on that offer. I'd kind of like to be up and about for the first day this week, buuuut my body is also radiating from the soreness right now, so we'll see how I sleep tonight. I think I remember exactly how I had the three pillows situated last night in order to minimize the pain as much as possible. Geez, I sound pitiful!
Today I had some yogurt at a place called Yogli Mogli. I got strawberry and raspberry yogurt topped with gummy bears, strawberries, kiwi, mango and pineapple. It was pretty fun, but they really ought to invest in some better quality gummy bears. For me, Drew Dotson, to throw out a gummy bear, something is horrendously wrong. The green gummy bears were absolutely awful. It got me thinking about how great Haribo gummy bears are. I learned the other day that the green Haribo bears are actually strawberry-flavored. All gummy bear companies should look into doing something like that because green is notoriously bad when it comes to candy.
Well, I guess I better get ready for bed. I mean, I've been in bed for much of the day, but I guess I better proceed as though I'll be sleeping soon. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me whether I go to work or not - surviving an improv show when I didn't think my body would survive the week.
I am glad you are reading this.

Imajeanation
Well, I believe it's safe to deem today a completely lazy day. I seriously have almost nothing to show for it, but it's good to have days like that sometimes.
I slept in until almost 11:00 a.m., and that was about the extent of what I accomplished today.
I went on an adventure to try to find some new jeans. What used to be my nicer jeans have slowly evolved into worn-out jeans, so I was hoping to find a new pair. The keyword there is 'hoping' because I had absolutely no luck. I have such a hard time finding pants that it's borderline unreal. I even decided to try on skinny jeans in hopes that maybe those would fit right, but that was unsuccessful, too. It was pretty frustrating... I also went looking for jeans at the mall around New Year's and had absolutely no luck, so I'm beginning to think this is Mission: Impossible.
I'm excited to have off work tomorrow. It's once again perpetuating the fact that I haven't gotten fully back in the groove since the holidays, but oh well. I'd rather have the day off than be in a groove. I do have improv tomorrow, though, which I prefer anyway since I'm in the show on Thursday. I know that looking forward to Thursday's show will probably make the week fly by!
This whole weekend-devoted-to-my-book thing hasn't worked out as I was hoping. Instead of making much progress, I've found myself second-guessing everything I could possibly be questioning. I have definitely made progress as far as getting it organized, but I've taken steps backwards as far as how I feel about it mentally. As my friend said, though, I am my worst critic.
Tonight I was thinking about cotton candy and it made me happy. It also made me angry because I don't have any and haven't had it in forever, but cotton candy is awesome. The thought of pure sugar excites me right now, but I should probably focus on going to sleep instead.
